I've been looking at Lexus models on Facebook marketplace for a little bit now, I got around 3,000$ saved up but I'm gonna try to get around 2000 more. When I do eventually check out a car, is there anything I should be looking for, I've checked out a 2001 Is300 but It had a pretty bad oil leak so I didn't end up getting it. You guys got any recommendations? anything helps.

An ES350 or you will need whatever the purchase price is to fix what's wrong day one.

Striker is right.

A 20 year old Lexus is generally going to cost more to own than you can afford at this point. They're far enough along in their lifespan that they're going to need some expensive maintenance items done. ES350 is basically a Camry/Avalon so it won't be as bad.

Source: I bought a 20 year old Lexus for $3,000 when I was in college. I could not afford to keep it running.

When having limited funds for purchasing & repair budget, I'd go non luxury.

Way less things to break and parts are more available.

I would never daily a luxury car if I didn't have the money to put into the car what it needs.

It will need a lot of work eventually, if not now. Lol
