Default Timken bearings now crap?

Anyone else have problems with timken bearings? I bought two timken wheel bearings and they make crazy amount a noise for new bearings. I ended up swapping them with oem and the sound went away. Can anyone else chime in with there timken experience?

They should still be good unless they moved to China for some models, I've not had an issue yet.

Seems to be a constant problem in the 21st century. What happens is some rich investors called , Private Equity Investors, will find a good company with a good reputation, they will buy it, find a way to maximize profits from that good reputation. They make as much money as possible for as long as possible. Once the reputation can carry the business anymore they start looking for another Private Equity Company to offload the company to, and the new owner finds out they got screwed pretty quickly. So they look for anyway possible to recoup their investment regardless of the damage they do to anyone else. That’s why there are hardly any decent companies or products of any kind this century

Timken has been around for 125 years doubt they suddenly decided to make junk. I've never had any issues with their parts.

I kind of lean in this direction in general. They are a MAJOR global player in not just automotive, but serious industrial applications.

Another variable is installation. If we are talking pressed-in bearings and not hub assemblies, installation errors can ruin a sealed bearing assembly. I’ve seen it happen multiple times, and, embarrassingly, I’ve done it myself once.

Agreed. They have been on a roll for a long time.
