It’s the same engine, the complexity is what causes the manufacturing issue
you are just being anti Lexus for the sake of it. Has nothing to do with that. The 5.7 iForce had an issue that had to do with manufacturing camshafts back in 2007. These things happen

Not being anti-Lexus at all. This engine won’t be as reliable as the old V8s though. It’s just too complex to be. Much more expensive to work on too.
Making honest and fair criticisms of Toyota isn't being anti-Lexus. The man has arguably given Toyota/Lexus more money than you have given them.
The simple fact of the matter is that Toyota's quality is not what it used to be in the 90's and 2000's. They got complacent and they are paying the price for that right now. The 3rd gen Tacoma had a number of common issues, now the new engine for their larger vehicles is having catastrophic failures left and right. That's not okay when you spend $60-80k on a vehicle and the engine keeps throwing bearings. What's worse is that turbo V6's in trucks are no longer a new concept. There are millions of ecoboost F-150's on the road now and they managed to make it work.
it is anti-Lexus when there is no acknowledgement of a manufacturing defect vs the claim that the problem is because the engine is overly complicated. I agree the engine is complex. But, that is how technology progresses. My 1GR engine is far more complicated over my 2UZ for the simply fact of variable valve timing and other tech, I also believe the braking is similar to the LS460 set up..but I’m not sure. You never got back to me when I replied on the 4.0 vs 3.5tt.

I think you made the right decision. I love NA Japanese V6's whether they were from Nissan,Toyota or Honda. I would pick the 4.0L over the TTV6 everyday.
