My 2018 Odyssey has been mechanically okay so far, but the driver’s side sliding door fails to close 1 out of every 10 attempts and I have to get out and forcibly close it

Modern era to me would be 2007 onward.

The smartphone era has ruined driving.

Are most of the problems you see from Japan built Hondas or US built Hondas?

I believe Marysville, OH has a big Honda plant.

Honda can't seem to make good automatic transmissions. I remember early 00's Acura TL's having major AT problems.

Disappointing. Honda can make a good 2.0t turbo though, even though they ripped the 2.0t away because they think Americans want hybrids instead of a little fun.

I have a long time friend and it was years ago when the 2.0t was more mainstream, he’s worked for Honda for 25 years. He’s in service. I asked him about the turbos, he said no general problems. But there was a fairly common issue with the engine, it wasn’t the turbos. ICR. I wish I could.

Hondas used to be so reliable it was stupid, like Lexus. They had some missteps like the automatic transmission debacle late 90 early 00s, but they were solid solid cars. We had a 90s Prelude and it was just unkillable. Like a Toyota.

Why don't you post about it lol? I thought you just hauled giant bales of hay in your Tundra.

Since the other thread was closed, SW17LS here’s how loud my truck is at 75mph. It is 99.9% stock. It’s louder (+10 db) than my Prius and my R4P (in EV and hybrid mode) at the same speed.

It’s been seeing majority track duty lately. I’ve driven it on the street 1-2x in the last 4 months. I take it out for quick drive before the track event.

The 2.0 Accord with the 10 speed auto is definitely a sleeper!! Swap on the type r turbo and few bolt ons and you’re in the 12s. The interior is just as spacious if not bigger than a LS

Yep, well that’s gone for a 204hp hybrid as the “best” engine. A 1998 Accord also had 200hp, but it was from a silky smooth VTEC V6…. Not this trash.

Those 2.0ts ripped off 5.4 second 0-60 times. Seriously quick for a mainstream sedan.

It's reflected in the reliability surveys too. Honda has spent the last half decade or longer at the lower half to bottom of the JD Power Dependability study. One year Acura was ranked even worse than Jaguar.
