hi currently i'm driving '01 Toyota harrier (a.k.a. RX 300) Trd Edition.
now i'm thingking to trade my car , cause i'ts already starts to rattle alot , especially "below the dashboard "
i only want toyota or lexus car , cause i'm a toyota distributor in a city in indonesia, so i don;t want people see me in other brand :P
one more reason i always love toyota or lexus and only want to buy a car if the badge is either one of them

i've got 3 car on my mind;
-toyota prado (confused diesel or petrol variant )
-Lexus GX 470
-Lexus RX 330 (toyota harrier A.I.R.S)

now the porblem is , i want a car that drive well on highway's tarmac, as well as occasional rough road, gravel, mud, etc. But i'm not into a "real" off road thing,

CAuse here in Indonesia , some road are just as bad as "semi off Road "
that's why i choose my rx anyway.

But i also drive quite fast on highway, sometimes punishing my rx to about 160/170 km/h
until the engine start begging with a grumpy noise.

One more candidate is Lexus Lx 470(Toyota Cygnus), but i feel the car is too big to drive in indonesia , cause traffic jam is everywhere

anyone could reccomend me what fits best ??
i like the design of gx 470, and prado more.
hmm are they the same ??
as for the new haarier or RX 330, i actually not so fond with the model, in my opinion the car look too much like a station wagon than a SUV, but i like the interior more than the prado or gx :P

I think i know how an Rx handle the road, cause it's almost identical to my old Rx apart from Air Suspension And 3300cc engine.

but i never try the Gx or Prado.

and one more thing , what is the difference between GX470 and Toyota Prado ???

 

I had a 04 RX 330 and traded it for a GX 470. In every way the GX is a much better vehicle. More solid, quietier, better ride and comfort. Real world gas mileage is not much worse. The RX would get better mileage on the highway, but the same or worse in Los Angeles traffic. I have about 3000 mile on my GX and it is solid as a rock. No vibrations or other problems. It is a nice ride and a very big step up from a RX. Skip

 

well there a problem though the GX is using 4.7 V8 petrrol right ??
, the GX has no right hand model
so i can drive that in My country
so my option is either Toyta prado 3.0 Turbo diesel Or 3.4 v6 petrol. that's where the problem is.
I'm sure your 4.7 V8 is big enough for the GX body, but a 3.0 turbo diesel or 3.4 v6 ???
some more the harrier here "a.k.a" rx330 has AIRS suspension , so i guess it will ride better then the RX330.

anyway thax for the info, if i'm not wrong , the chassis,susspension set up and body between prado and GX is the same , am i right ??

does ur GX ha AIRS suspension too ?
and also using the ladder frame , instead of full independent suspension as the RX right ?

ok now i know that GX is the same as prado, but not the engine
while i'm sure that 4,7 ltr V8 sufficient to carry those "large" body around with ease, but i'm not quite sure with option that prado has.
it only has 3.0 Turbo diesel, 3.4ltr V6 petrol or worse 2.7Four pot petrol
can anyone help me to decide between the 3.0 TD and the 3.4 V6?
