Default Toyota Harrier better than RX?

I was just looking over the Harrier which is the same as the Rx except Toyota Branded for Asian markets. Anyways, apparently it's cheaper and the navigation is HDD based and has more features! : http://toyota.jp/harrier/navi-audio/navi/index.html
What else is different and which is better?

If its for the Asian market only why worry about it, we can't get to buy it anyways. With all that is wrong right here in the good old USA this should be the least of our problems.

Harrier v. Lexus RX essentially the same vehicle (right hand drive though), but the Japanese market gets way more goodies than we do. Holds true with their general Toyota vehicles as well, although I understand that the Harrier nameplate is going (has gone) away and Lexus is now being marketed as a specifc brand over there. No matter what though, they still get more neat goodies!

They are the same vehicle. Until recently, Lexus as a brand didn't exist in Japan. All vehicles badged as Lexus in the US were old as Toyota's.

As for Right Hand Drive, it's the correct place for the steering wheel for all modern cultures whose forbears had a sword culture (e.g Japan, UK, Australia etc).

You guys actually think Acura is a brand in itself. Thy are Honda's everywhere else!

yes, thats why the new RX is so important. it is the first RX to get the lexus nameplate. though i think people in other countries will be able to tell the resemblance between the two

I dont think it so much the new Lexus logo that is important in the countries, its the Lexus dealerships. Like many have notice here, the low end Lexus are a lot like the high end Toyota these days. The big difference to me is not the logo, its the way business is done at the dealership. The Lexus dealerships are among the best in the industy, while Toyota dealerships are just in the middle of the pack.

You are all aware that Lexus vehicles in some countries are sold out of Toyota dealers.

Thats the case in most smaller markets or developing markets, I just dont see the point of paying extra for a low end Lexus if it the dealership is the same.

That's the case in Latin America in some areas and I am pretty positive the prices are higher for a Lexus there than here in the United States, that was the case with prices for Toyotas in Mexico versus the United States (no Lexus just yet).

Actually its not just Latin America where Toyota or Lexus cost more, it pretty everywhere else too besides Asia. My point is why pay lexus price over Toyota's if the service is not any better. Maybe there is a section of the dealership just for the lexus customers, that would make more sense.

I do. I was amazed at the prices I used to see in Latin America, especially my 6 years in Mexico which was actually quiet decent in prices. We have a very good deal here in the United States.

I have the Harrier back at home in Indonesia. The RX and Harrier is basically the same thing. Same design, interior is same, wouldn't know about the Navi as mine did not came with Nav.

The price difference for the Harrier and the RX back in my country is about 200 million rupiah or 20,000 dollars.
