Default Looking to Buy IS vs GS

Looking at new 23' IS350 F-Sport or used super low mileage 2020 GS350 F-Sport. Looking for thoughts on this.
I'm leaning toward the GS b/c it's a bigger car.
Also, new here so thanks in advance for your input.

Both are excellent vehicles. If you need the room, the GS would be the way to go.

If you truly need to use the rear seats on a regular basis then GS is much better car.
The GS interior is much higher quality as well and luxurious feeling.

The IS exterior looks way better though imo.

Performance wise they are pretty much identical.

I'd go for whichever is the better deal, but all things equal, GS for sure. The GS interior is a nicer place to be and the GS got more features standard like 3 person memory seats, power thigh extension, power side bolsters. The GS also had more features available like power trunk, rear wheel steering, etc.

Thanks. I agree with everyone's assessment. I wish Lexus hadn't dropped the GS, I'd buy a new one. Supply of low mileage GS350's is getting really slim which is why I am considering the IS. Hopefully I can find the right GS.

As much as I like the GS, I can see your concern about buying used. Sometimes buying a super low mileage car can be a real issue. The previous owner might have had some serious issue that just wanted to get rid of the car. It's very unlikely with GS though. I really enjoyed mine. Fantastic car. As you said, too bad Lexus dropped it. Good luck with the choice.

I haven't sat inside an IS model but I saw an IS350 yesterday in front of me at the light.

Nice looking car but I don't think it looks as big as a GS model.

Both good picks but it depends what you want/need. The GS is considerably larger but the IS is smaller and more nimble. Both fall behind the competition in terms of tech and performance but are way more reliable.

I loved my '15 GS. It was comfortable, quick enough, and roomy. Certainly had my favorite seats I've ever had in a car.

I've had both and both are excellent cars. You really can't go wrong either way. I do prefer the GS though.

i daily an IS (albeit 2nd gen) and my biggest wish was that it was bigger as my hair constantly rub on the headliner (i'm a skinny 5'11" 160lbs). i feel cramped with my arms and shoulders too.
my dad had a latest gen GS and it was much more comfortable. they do drive similarly with the GS more refined being much newer (to me)!

my vote is the GS, plus you don't have to pay for depreciation .

If it's IS350 vs GS350, I'd take the GS350. If it was IS500 vs GS350 it would take me longer to decide. Or maybe, in that case, I'd just go GS F (which is kind of what I wish I had done in the first place).

Would go for the GSF. Will hold value better than the others.

Dealbreaker for the GS is the rear seats do not fold down. makes the damn thing extremely impractical. The 3IS rear seats do fold down. dumb of car mfr's to not have this feature!

I agree, the GSF would also be my choice. Even if the op puts lots of miles on it, it should still hold its value better than any IS or regular GS. Too bad the IS500 wasn't made as an ISF.
