Not just you i7 is really struggling. Bmw has ramped up incentives and this month are including a wallbox charger and installation up to 2k if you buy/lease one. But pretty much every dealer is trying to give them away.
$135K is giving it away?? Really? I'm just trying to imagine the sticker if they gouging their customers. Also they seem to be moving here, they only had two left, last week they had 5 on the lot
Sounds like i7 is about twice the price of the Model S (roughly $70k vs $140k). I'd have a hard time justifying 2x the price of the i7.
Theyre completely different cars. All you have to do is sit in them both and drive them both. I don’t even compare the two because I just wouldn’t consider a Model S, I compare the i7 to a new S Class or an EQS or a Range Rover or a gas 7 series. $125-$145,000 is what these cars cost optioned up the way I want them and the i7 is right in line.
Model S is not a flagship luxury sedan competitor.

This is true of all large sedans, S Class, EQS same way. Bring it on I say!

Giving them away, at $135k.
Oh well I'm screwed.
I can't afford the cheap cars now either. Haha 😂

Agree with @SW17LS . Model S is a Premium vehicle, but not luxury. You can spec the i7 to almost infiniti, the Model S you can get it in different colors and tire sizes, but not many add-ons unless you go to the aftermarket. Different customer bases. Model S customers would more likely be cross shopping BMW M3/M5

I think the Model S makes a TON of sense at the price its at now...when it was solidly over $100k it was overpriced IMO.

The car has up to $12900 in lease rebates 1.99 for 60 and 2.49% for 72 mo financing and they are now giving away free level 2 chargers and paying installation. Yes that is giving it away. Again I work at Bmw dealer I know the market. Almost every dealer would give the car to another dealer and be happy to get it off the books. If you mean they should cut the msrp, they dont feel they need to.

Again though, same is true of all large luxury sedans...its not unique to this...its just a very soft segment. Lots of EV manufacturers are giving away chargers and paying for installation too, Hyundai as an example. $10,000 lease cash on ICE S Classes, plus the additional ~8-9% you can negotiate off....
The Chrysler Pacifica Hybrid we just leased had $14,000 in rebates with a $63k MSRP.

Thanks for the info. BTW, he offered me some crazy incentives on the X5 as well, so I don't think it's just the i7 getting incentives (they had a ton of X3/X5 on their lot). But you work at a BMW dealership, so you would know better than me

X5 incentives not even close to the i7. I do expect the incentives to continue to get better. Sales are struggling. Lot of dealers using them as loaners and dedicated “extended test drive cars” to try to draw up interest.
