One of my co-workers who owns a 911 and an older Prius came to me today (as I was photographing the curbed tire and scrapped up aero cover to send to my son) and told me he recently looked at the new Prius, and with the price nearly $40K for a base model, it makes no sense to him when the Model 3 is around the same price. The problem...his wife is one of those anti Elon people, and doesn't want a Tesla, because you know, Elon is just such bad guy. He said he's trying to convince her because in his words, he wants something more "exciting". I told him I'll send him a referral link, and he'll get another $1000 off, maybe that will convince her
I know everyone has their own individual needs, but with Model 3 pricing so low, having better tech, driving dynamics and features and the Prius being so...boring, I just can't see buying one unless you really have this compelling need to drive 500 miles non stop. I lived with a Prius for 3 weeks when I attending a bootcamp in Pennsylvania, and yes it was reliable, efficient and comfortable for such a small car, but I couldn't wait to get back to my Camry with it's gas guzzling V6
Just my 2 cents

New Prius is made to please people that will never buy one.
Since it's release, I've only seen two or three on the road. In fact, I see more Mira's, at least one or two a week. It's not like their not available... the Toyota dealership next to my work has 26 of them on the lot
Ya'll probably shoot me for this but I've never liked the Prius, now or then.
Might as well make them all pink because that's how I feel about the car in the nicest way I can say it, does nothing for me.
They need to scrap the prius and go either full ev or make it cool like a Tesla, which a Prius is not. Lol Just IMO! 🥁 🚜
I've never been a fan either, but they once served a purpose. Unfortunately now they are just a relic of the past, kind of like a smartphone with a physical keyboard... IMO of course
And please @Margate330 don't tell me you like physical keyboards on phones
it's not about me, i was simply stating that the new one is a huge upgrade from the old. it's quicker, better looking, etc. but yeah, it's still a prius and there's so many better choices now.

don't really know what that means, what would be the point in that? obviously toyota wants to sell them. i doubt the numbers are very good though, but i've not looked. i'm sure rav4 and corolla hybrid models trounce it in sales.

I was joking with you. Like I said previously, I've only seen a couple on the road since launch, and dealership lots have lots of them, so it's not lack of inventory. In the Bay area you would expect this to be a very popular car
