Translation: Government started breathing down their neck.
The Department of Motor Vehicles Investigation Division is no joke. They are full law enforcement, basically State Police with powers to arrest. She probably gave them a call. The GM sounded really nervous and was profusely apologizing to me
AMIRZA glad you're likely to be made somewhat whole out of all this. when i did my ioniq deal today i actually told the finance guy what happened to you and told him i want to see the paper showing mine is a trade-in and not a turn in to hyundai, etc. and he did. hopefully i don't get any surprises.
your saga and steve's and others' help saved me time and money today.

Are congratulations in order? If so, than I'm glad my ordeal helped you avoid the same pitfall
Now I know 100 percent had I not filed a complaint I would be out $2K. Sometimes the system actually works. Sometimes. At least I know who to go to if I ever get ripped off or lied to by a dealership. Hopefully they clean up their practices
Thanks 👍. What's awesome is the dealership didn't get away with screwing me. But I'm wondering how many people have had this happen to them...I couldn't be the first. To be so blatantly dishonest. Come to think about it, I should not have had to spend a month negotiating on a deal they clearly publish on their website and email to potential customers.
Anyway, it's done. I'm sure the check I cash will come out of the commissions of the sales and finance guy
Last night I updated the Ioniq 5. It doesn't look like Hyundai is doing OTA updates, I had to download the update to a USB drive to update the car. It seems the majority of the update was for the mapping system. Took more than an hour, and you can't monitor the update unless you leave the car running. The Model Y will show you status of the update on the screen, as well as from the app. The Hyundai, Blue Link can't connect, so you can't monitor it from the app.
Hopefully Hyundai changes the way they update. It's really inconvenient because I had to download the software, and install it to a USB drive which took more than an hour. Than another hour or so to update the car itself. Not a very efficient way of doing things
