this BIG update i did with the flash drive because i didn't want to wait for OTA but i read that it's going to be coming that way at some point. but again, given the size of the update (40GB?) it wasn't going to be a quick OTA download! one thing i believe teslas do better is you can have the car connect to your own wifi for faster connection. hyundai doesn't have that.
but yes, i had 2 or 3 (can't recall) OTA updates right after getting the car.
AMIRZA, as i posted in my thread, there was more to the update than just mapping. and yup, not as simple as OTA in Tesla... but if i do a big update via flash drive every 6 months or whatever, no biggie to me. the update runs while the car is off anyway so like you always say about no biggee on waiting for charging on the road, updating this way is no biggie either.
I'm guessing that because it's using LTE, it is probably downloading the updates over time. I'll just wait and see if one pops up. So far I haven't seen one pop up since getting the car, but then again my wife drives it. She may be just cancelling them when they pop up
yup i had that done when i took it in for wheel balance. i didn't know about it until i took it in.
they also checked some fuse. i think i posted an image of the work ticket on my 'onward' thread.

Now the letter makes it official. BTW, I hope this doesn't end up in the infamous Hyundai recall thread. Last I remember, you were booted from there 🤣 🤣
So it looks like two issues have popped up with the Ioniq:
Rear trim came out
Second, occasionally the car won't go in reverse. My wife will have to turn the car off and turn it back on, then it will start working.
The rear trim coming out is not a big deal. I put it back in, but it will come back out in a few days. It just needs some weatherstip adhesive. For the car occasionally not going in reverse, I'll have them look at it when we take it in for the recall, which is only a software update
Yesterday my wife called me while I was at work saying she couldn't lock her Ionic. I told her to try and use the spare fob in case there was a problem with her fob, but same result. So I went into the app and tried to do a remote lock, and it failed with a message that a door was left open. Looking at the app, I could see there was a door open, but the app doesn't specify which one:
Told my wife to check the doors, and it turns out it was the rear passenger side left ajar.
The Tesla on the other hand will not only tell you a door, window or trunk is open, but it will show you which one:
Hopefully Hyundai will fix this oversight, as it's very easy to leave the Ioniq's door slightly ajar and not even notice it
