Tesla Business and News Thread
Eligibility actually started in late October (purchases up to 90 days prior to the program start date), though they didn't start accepting the paperwork until yesterday. I suspect by end of next week at the latest, all the money will be gone, except for the portion reserved for low-income residents.

It's an Illinois thing, not a Tesla thing. So yes.

Last year they got 5,600 applicants and 3,000 received the rebates. Looks like this year they have funding for 3,500 cars.
oh the ironies of a state like IL supporting tesla and musk.

can't imagine many low income folks are buying ev's.

most of the pics of new Model Y are terrible, but i cant imagine it will look worse than current one in real life.
It will probably be refreshing and interior does look nicer and higher quality... if rest of the updates are like Highland, they will have a winner.
Prices of cars have gone up so much in Europe, Model Y is an affordable midsize Euro offering.

. What a moron of a governor we have. Can't wait until he's voted out. Oh, nevermind 🤭
"Low income" means persons and families whose income does not exceed 80% of the State median income as established by the United States Department of Health and Human Services.
Though they list every model that is eligible, I don't believe they break out the actual rebates awarded by model.

At the risk of bringing actual facts into the discussion, he can't be voted out as he can't run again. He's term limited and a new governor will be elected in 2026.
