The guy is a total hypocrite. We're supposed to be heading for almost zero emissions, yet he's sided with the utilities cutting rooftop solar installations by 80 percent. Now he wants to chase the largest and only electric car manufacturer out of the state. I can't wait until he's voted out before he does more damage

Stop it Bit... just stop for God's sake 🤣

This article is about State credits that would supposedly replace federal credits, but I doubt that's really going to happen for any EV'S, as our jack *** governor put us in a $25B deficit, with another $3B projected next year, so where are they going to get the money? And with a 27 percent favorable rating, he's history next election

Since when are governments concerned about spending money they don't have? Look at the federal debt lol.

Federal government has the ability to print money and although huge deficits will eventually bite, they can keep kicking them down the road. State government doesn't have that luxury. People will literally suffer, services like fire and police are the first to get cut. Imagine the police in your city all get laid off... it's happened, and it ain't pretty

I read that yesterday a certain city is cutting essential services. Scary.

Now imagine if California pisses Elon off enough where he decides it's no longer worth the trouble to be in the state. Huge losses in jobs, tax revenue etc. it would be a disaster for California. And it could become a tipping point.

If Elon decided to move Tesla out of California, I would be disappointed, but would understand. But I don't think he's even contemplating that move. Just visit Tesla Fremont if you ever get a chance, it's massive, and the amount of vehicles they produce is... massive. It took years to train all those employees who are a highly skilled workforce. Only way he could do it is build a new plant somewhere else and slowly over a few years move operations... billions in cost.

Elon's a businessman. He'll deal with it through negotiations, and even threats. During COVID lockdown, guess which company refused to close? Through negotiations and threats, Tesla remained open in one of the strictest lockdowns

True but as you know Cali tried to force him to shut down Fremont in fact during that time there were articles written about how Elon is putting peoples lives at risk blah blah blah usual crap.

Tesla could replace Fremont quickly less than 5 years. No I don't want to see Tesla leave your state but if there is enough stupidity by local and state governments it gets to a point where being there is not worth it anymore. Remember X left San Fran, sure tiny operation in comparison but at the same time it was an iconic business in an iconic building.

To put it simply why should Tesla remain in such a hostile environment there are 50 states many of them ready to roll out the red carpet.

I can't disagree with that argument. Tesla brings about 122k jobs here, and basically made the city of Fremont what it is today. Losing Tesla in California would be a huge economic loss. So I hope it doesn't come to that.

BTW I heard he recently bought a house in Bel Aire (near Beverly Hills), so if true, he still has an attachment to the state

Not 122k Tesla jobs in Cali, Tesla employs 122,000 people total 47,000 in California. As you know Tesla has all manner of things going on in California not just making cars there is Fremont, Lathrop which is Megapack production as well as castings, and San Diego which is battery R&D.

And there is SpaceX which employs about 8,000 people in your state.

And it brings a pile of supporting businesses to the area. If Newsom wasn't such a ****** he's understand the cachet that Tesla brings to the state as well as jobs.

Ego can blind you. Californians had/have choices. I wonder how Elon will make his move on this.
