not sure why mb wants the center screen leaned back like this... must cause issues with reflections/glare?
other than that, it's nice and agree the passenger screen option is not likely to add much value.

It makes it much easier to manipulate when moving I have noticed that. Doesn't really cause an issue with glare, the screen surface is coated with an anti-glare coating. The screen is also so bright that it pushes through reflections.

not challenging your comment, just wondering how does tilting it back make ie easier to manipulate? seems like the top is just way far away to reach.

For me its because the screen falls more naturally to my hand. Its not positioned so that anything on the screen is hard to reach, the screen is pretty close to you,

Your hand falls more naturally on it so you can smudge it up with greater accuracy!

New E53 just debuted. PHEV inline 6 with widebody treatment. There's speculation that the E63 will be no more.

The Mercedes CEO very publicly announced their ICE models are going to be more relevant than originally thought throughout the course of this decade. This is not surprise given the global automotive market at the moment and similar pivots from other automakers. It gives me hope they'll reconsider sunsetting the E63.

Yep, they specifically mentioned ICE "into the 2030s" too with that unconscionable, unthought of breaking news.

They're busting out those contingency plans people told me here that they didn't have because Mercedes Benz would never make an engine again.

Lol maybe they didn't have them in the first place, because I'm sure half of all of MB especially their engineers loves their electric models and the other half hates them.

You say we all said that to you but thats not true. Nobody said Mercedes would never make an engine again, including Mercedes. They said they weren't developing any new engines, which has not changed. They can of course continue to use the engines they have already developed.

That will change too. Mercedes will have to develop new engines at some point

Thats not going to happen. They have a bunch of freshly designed new powerplants, and they can tweak them and improve them without developing totally new engines. They can continue to sell ICE vehicles for the next 30 years and not develop new ICE powertrains. Outside of the old V12s all their ICE engines are new within 5-6 years.

Oh but it is true. Mercedes EVs were all but about to take over.. no more engine development according to you.

Now, in actual reality they can't give away their EVs, and are massively backtracking their business strategy. They're changing the looks all around for them to look more like regular cars, dropping the EV names, etc. They'll design another ICE, are you serious??? It's clear most don't want their EVs.

I mean it's not rocket science.

The black S-Class there is 101k. The hideous EV is 140k.

Which one of these will sell faster?

Correct, no new ICE development. Do you know what that means? I don't think you do. That means they wont be designing new ICE engines...not that they won't be using the engines they have already developed/

Clearly the design of their EV models doesn't work, they will develop a new mature look which blends both design schemes into each other and sell EV and ICE side by side the way BMW is doing which is a much better idea,

Mercedes won't be developing any new ICE powerplants no. That does not mean they won't develop new cars that are ICE, they will just use existing ICE powerplants they have already developed.

If that S Class is $101k then its marked down 15% from its MSRP or its used. S500s start at $116k. You can easily option up an S Class to be $146k and can buy an EQS for $101k. Pricingwise they are very similar.

The issue there is not EV vs ICE its beautiful design vs ugly. The EQS is just ugly, ICE or EV. If they offered an EV version of the S Class it would sell better. The i7 take rats for the 7 Series is almost 40%.
