It seems people just say what they want here, with zero references. It's like someone saying the next Tesla coming out will have 1000 miles range, have a battery the size of a walnut, and be able to fully charge in 10 minutes and expects everyone to be impressed

At what price you think? Or would have to be on the higher end products
I don't know the fair price, but all that for $28k seems too good to be true unless the car is so stark and unappealing inside that it feels like a rental. Comparison's sake, my 2019 Civic Sport Touring was stickered around $29k. Granted it's as loaded as you can make a non Type R, but the range is half of that Camry's. It has exceeded the estimated hwy mpg of 38 a few times. If the $28k is real, it probably is just the basics though.

well. I had picked the low end model as the lower end model had the new battery whereas the higher end Camry had an older battery. I think all Camrys now use the same battery. I was kinda also looking at the running cost of a $1000 a year.
Exactly. What makes it even worse is Toyota did have the foresight to invest in and partner with Tesla, but then got out. That initial investment, $50m, would be worth just under $20bn today. That's close to 10% of Toyota's current market cap.
Yep. My neighbors leased the Rav4 EV. After that, Toyota cashed out for a nice profit, but as you say, it could have been so much more in so many ways. You might also say without Toyota's investment, Tesla would have been a pipe dream.
Actually it will be some Chinese brand. I take the bets
hmmmm. I never thought about China. Can’t believe Chinese built cars are available for purchase in the US. Hoping Toyota never sells Chinese made Toyotas in North America
Leadership. Theranos was valued at $9 billion at one point. Case in point leadership has little to do with valuation.
They (Theranos) didn't last very long, did they. Thanks for making my point stronger. Now I'm doubling down. Good leadership would have never build and raise money around a fraudulent product. And just like Theranos, Toyota is touting a product that's nowhere near ready....SSB's. Or at least people are on behalf of Toyota
