Default Slow cars driven fast are fun as hell!

So my wife has been absolutely stacking miles on the LS430 but even if it's the mile stacker of the group now I still make sure it's 100%

As a result I drove it to work today to get it on the lift and check it over and damn I forgot how fun this car is to drive! It also continues to impress with no rust or issues as usual but that's to be expected of a 430.

It's slow enough you get so much time in the higher revs and can use ALL the power basically whenever you want. The engine still revs so smoothly and evenly, the sport suspension is very loose vs my Germans but it imparts a very reactive and "fun" feeling despite 20mph lower corner speeds. Still does 100+ no problem and still is fun to drive, a lot of the time I have to more carefully pick where I can actually use the power since my usual cars have so much more.

The German stuff is so capable it desensitizes you, it's almost too easy to drive them fast. Anyway, I just had a lot of fun on the drive up here earlier and the difference is very stark in how much of the car you can "use" when it's not as high level.

Not talking about something like my Jeep though, that's just "meh" on wheels and it demanded stuff this checkup to the tune of 4 shocks, the upper rear "triangle arm", and the tie rod ends. Not bad though since they were original at 315k and I put 140k on myself.

Yep, 4.3 is extremely free-revving and sounds amazing. Lots of torque too to get the car moving effortlessly.

I know you're used to Bugattis lmao, LS430 isn't THAT slow.

Haha I'm not that bad come on now! The 4.3 cars cart very good, it's a boat but a boat with near 50:50 and correct wheel drive and good suspension so it's quite pleasant.

Yep. Lots of people vastly underestimated that car. It’s not going to get your heart rate up but or beg you to nail it but it has an excellent chassis and sophisticated suspension befitting a top of the line luxury car.

I did notice my steering feel improved or felt sportier at least when I put the 18s on it.

Toyota 86 is another extremely fun "slow car". You can basically floor it and take it to it's limits without ending up wrapped around a pole or in a ditch. I drove my friends in 2018 and it was actually pretty fun. You have to really wind it out, and it's "right wheel drive", has a proper shifter, and is as analog as it gets

Get an MR2 - of the NA variety. Make sure that you understand very well how things go wrong in a mid/rear-engine car. Go have some fun :P

“Slow” is relative I suppose. The LS430 is 0-60 in 6.3 seconds and feels a bit quicker without the 18 inch wheels.

That’s about the same acceleration as an early 1980s Porsche 928 with a stick shift which was faster than the 928 with an auto transmission.

I was a teen in the 80s and cars like that was or V8 Camaros and Mustangs were considered too dangerous for a kid to drive.

Thr LS430 is in no way a slow car, it’s just that almost everything is fast now. Even a V6 Camry family car.

Speaking of fun small/slow cars I'm actually very very tempted to buy a MG midget.

https://limaohio.craigslist.org/cto/...595231753.html

It would fit between my cars in the garage but I'm not sure if I would fit in it. I'm slightly over 6'...

I have enough room to move the Audi 8 inches to the right and the LS 1.5 ft to the left so it would easily fit......
