one of my favorite slow car driven fast moments was with a "very well broken in" scion xb in manual that my customer left at the dealership as a trade in, it had to be moved off the lot so i took the opportunity to thrash it for a few moments on the roads behind the building

that 2.4 liter 2AZ actually has some guts to it and getting to take it to absolute redline between every shift but still be going reasonable speeds was decently fun lol... it helped me understand why the top gear trio are such fans of the 'hot hatch'

Yeah for real, I totally agree the ability to just redline the hell out of an engine legally and with impunity is so enjoyable. The LS430 and LS460 both allow it since they are so well made, just get oil up to temp and go nuts.

That's why I want a slow 4 cyl manual car, you can just string it out like mad! I have my eye on a few including that MG but another contender is a 190E 2.3-16 or similar Mercedes. Fun, RWD, and can provide a lot of fun and is still fairly safe if I crash it lol

I didn't notice a thing when I switched my wheels except better handling, interesting.

LS430 isn't slow like you say. Everything is fast now. But making speed in whatever versus the old Lexus V8, not too much compares. Or just wafting around enjoying the engine.

I drove BIL's Lincoln 2.0t recently that wasn't too horrible to drive, I was impressed with the power down low but the engine was just awful overall. After that admittedly satisfying low end boost it's just a can of bees making noise.

His average MPG was 18 and he said he's never reset it just FWIW.

Slow, light cars are fun. I had a 1985 Mazda RX5 (1st Gen) which had like 100 hp, and revved (freely, like it had no flywheel!) to 7000 RPM. And it was a blast to drive, weighing in around 2500 pounds. It was the epitome of this concept.

Slow, heavy cars are just that...slow and heavy, and not much fun (though hopefully they're efficient and supremely comfortable).

Heavy cars that are fast are also fun.

Oh it's fun sliding an LS with the rear wrapped in smoke! They can still move/play, light stuff can be fun as well but the drama is not as high

I had an ls430 sport bought new and lowered...car was definitely luxurious (for the time), had good torque, but fun? Kinda stretching that definition there...

Try it going sideways with smoke coming off the tires or at 100+, it's fun and it can take it lol!

You must simply rub a bottle, and a Genie pops out and magically puts on a set of expensive new tires for you.

I have enough room to move the Audi 8 inches to the right and the LS 1.5 ft to the left so it would easily fit......
Don't buy a MG Midget they are really small i drove one and i didn't fit 5, 10 cheers.

corolla XRS! same engine lotus used in the elise and exige, as well as the matrix XRS

i'm pretty sure it's the only toyota engine that used VVTL-i as opposed to standard VVT-i, so at 6500rpm at wot you'd get...

Haha! Normally I would never do that but I have the new set in my garage so why not......these are already 10k over warranty mileage so I figured might as well have some smoke!

Speaking of expensive tires my Audis should have their new tires arriving tomorrow at noon! I'm having 16 tires changed out and my mobile installer is very pleased with this fact, now the LS460 and both A8s will all have the same tires plus one set of Cup 2s for summer only to be shared between the Germans.

My excuse for the smoke show....I already have new ones so it's okay in my brain to smoke the old ones lol!

Pricy but I like them

Slow car fast is way more fun than fast car slow. I loved my old BRZ because I could wring it out to what felt like 10/10ths in the first few gears and I was still never in danger of breaking speed limits.
