tell him to do vinyl. plastidip isn't going to be smooth, it's textured. plastidip is fine for small things. it'll probably end up costing similar for plastidip and vinyl.

^^ Vinyl would cost less because he'll have to peel of the plastidip and buy the vinyl anyways

The dip will look like garbage. It's very flat will look like you just did a good job spray painting it. Vinyl is the way to go for larger surfaces. One thing with vinyl though is that it scratches pretty easily. Brushing the snow off my roof did a number on my vinyl this winter.
