Canadian Prices
So like most things cars are more expensive in Canada than the US, and this is becoming more of an issue as our dollar goes up in value. It's no surprise then that something like an IS250 is about $5,000 cheaper in the US.
But what I can't understand is this: Why is the IS350 $12,000 more up in Canada? The price difference between the 250/350 in the US is around $4g, whereas here it's $12g? What's the logic behind this kind of pricing difference?

Yeah, it is unfair. But I was wondering if anyone has concrete answers? This isn't just a matter of cars being more expensive here in general... why such huge disparities between the different engine sizes?
smaller market?
although they'll say it's "competitive" to other brands. True, it's competitive to a 335i sedan with similar options but that car's US$47k but $60k up here.
FYI, Toyota dropped the price on the Prius significantly. The base price went from $31,280 for 2007 to $29,500 for 2008. PLUS, it got extra equipment like 16" alloys, Homelink, Foglights, Auto-Dimming Mirror, larger spoiler, stiffer suspension and side/side curtain airbags.
It's still more expensive but it's a very good price here. Too bad they didn't lower the price of other Toyota/Lexus models.

Well maybe the IS350 would have as big a market as the 250 in Canada if it wasn't so much more overpriced?
Do you guys see what I mean? I'm not concerned that the IS is more expensive to buy in Canada, I'm just wondering why the 250 is a little more expensive whereas a 350 is a whole entry-level cars worth more expensive.
