Default 2008 Prices

With the depreciation of the US dollars, any thought that the 2008 model prices will be higher than the 2007 model?

It'll be slightly higher. When I ordered my 2008 they said it would be about $300 over the 2007.

To be fair, Lexus should raise the price for CND cars and reduce the price for US cars, to equalize prices and keep border raids to a minimum.

Actually, the price of a base model Toyota Camry has decreased relative to inflation over the last 10 years. Today's base model costs $18720, which is about $15000 in 1997 dollars. A base model 1997 Camry started at $16448, which is almost $20000 in 2007 dollars.

I wouldn't be surprised to see the same phenomenon with other Toyota cars, too.

Do you have a clue what you're talking about, or is the smiley suppose to excuse your ignorance?!? $US has continued to steadily decline on world markets while $CDN has risen to almost equal that of $US. The prices should be normalized to be the same.

lexus's arnt all they're cracked up to be. they basically overpriced toyotas, to say the least.
If they sold the IS 350 for the same as the G35, I would buy it, but, till then, see ya Lexus, you wont get my hard earned money......... to pay for your marble laced dealerships and coffee,etc......
Too bad.

The IS350 rocks the G35 in quality and luxury. There is no Toyota that is a "cheaper" IS350...

However, the G35 is a great value. To each his own; most members here paid the premium for the IS350 because of quality and luxury.

I'm getting mine for $41K OTD. It's not here yet, but coming really soon.. it's in port of Long Beach now. I just went to Infiniti's website, and built a comparable model, and price came out to Total MSRP* $40,965.00.

Thanks, but I'll still keep my IS350.

Perceived value is important. Personally, I feel the IS series are extremely well priced vis a vis their competition. The G35 may be lower priced, but so what? The Infiniti does not cut the same image, nor is the same overall quality (esp. the interior). If the sheer dollar price point is the driving factor for you, that's fine. But when I balance all aspects the Lexus is the better 'bargain'. Whatever......

Not sure I understand that comment. What is the Toyota equivalent of the IS, GS, or LS? The only way you can even try to make that argument is with the ES/Camry, and from what I understand they won't even share the same platform soon. I've read that Lexus is basically independent of Toyota now.

Besides, isn't a G35 basically just an overpriced Nissan then? And Toyota has a much better reputation than Nissan.

The new G35 really blends in with traffic. It's certainly not a head-turner. Anonymity is yours. Enjoy!
