Lowering 2IS

Has anyone here lowered thier 2IS, particularily in the GTA? I have the 250awd and see pictures in the 2IS forum of lowered awds. Damn they look good. Even the ones who lower on stock. I'm considering lowering but will most likely wait until after winter. Will also most likely leave the 17's on until such time as I can afford new rims/tires. Since most who lowered their awd seem to use the Tanabe NF210 I will need to source them, and a good shop/installer.

I just lowered my IS350 on Eibach Pro Springs. Check Eibach's web site to see if they are suitable for the AWD. Post your question on the my.is Canadian forums as well, you may get lucky with a hook up for the springs.

No, the springs were supplied by Toyota.

I talked to the service department today when I was at the dealer. They told me lowering the car voids the warranty on the suspension, etc. They told me many of their customers do it nonetheless.

I completely swaped out my factory suspension with Tein CS coilovers, this is the best way. Putting just springs on to lower your car will compress your shocks and make them wear out early. Thats the reason the dealer voids your warranty on the suspension. With a swap, your factory suspension sits in a box until you want to put them back on (returning after lease or selling the car)

Lexus sells Eibach springs an Koni shocks for the IS300 and I even saw an AEM short ram intake for a Matrix at the Toyota dealer. Anyway, I kept my stock springs just incase I have problems during the winter, but the guys here said they never do so. I plan on buying out my car after the lease anyway and unless I destroy the suspension by hitting a curb of something there is nothing to go wrong with it for the rest of the warranty. And if I did screw it up I'm fully capable of replacing the entire suspension myself. In the future I want to do what Camillian did,...put some coil overs on it
