Brand new is 3k for the late model synchro's and the better shifter setup with bellhousing. Back in the day they used to be about 400 cheaper.

Good **** Joe - you're springing for great parts and upgrades which is going to make this thing a hoot (not to mention very reliable).

I've still yet to order a bunch of toyota parts for the clutch, figured I would go new on everything. These are all for the R154 clutch hub assembly. I already have a OEM throw out bearing included with my clutch so I'm set there. And I need to order a new slave and lexus master for the car. I might be able to get away with re-using my braided clutch line from my GS setup because I used a mk3 supra slave/clutch master and that may be similar enough to share the custom line.

R154 clutch fork 31204-14031
Release (HUB) Bearing - Toyota (31231-14040)
snap ring 96152-00450
WASHER, PLATE. Part Number: 90201-71001
Washer, Wave. Part Number: 90206-72001
RING, SHAFT SNAP. RING, SNAP. Part Number: 90520-67001
Spring, Clutch THRUS. Part Number: 31264-14040
Washer, Plate.Part Number: 90201-45023
Spring, Release Fork.Part Number: 3123414030
bolt (2) 90119-08604

edit: parts ordered haha. Got a killer deal!!!

This looks great! However, I have one newbie question. You mention a DBW delete. Why would this make a difference? I looked up a few videos on the subject and see that people opt for a mechanical setup. Is it that much better?

The stock 2jzgte VVT-I throttle body is a hybrid drive by wire/drive by cable, with throttle plate position sensor that sends data to the ECU which then sends the data to the other side of the throttle body to tell an electronic motor to open the throttle body. If the electronic motor fails, or the TPS sensor is not adjusted correctly or goes out of spec; the throttle body will go into limp mode which causes the first 75% of your throttle to be eliminated, and your throttle plate will only open 25% with the last 25% of throttle travel to limp you into a parking lot. It will also high idle 3000 rpm when this happens and requires cycling the key to eliminate the issue.

Problem is this dbw delete kit that is sold would upset the stock ECU and keep the motor in limp mode, so it can only be used with standalone ECU's and when used in conjunction it turns this hybrid drive by wire system into a fully 100% drive by cable which many prefer because it is simpler and reliable.

Nice that is real close, wonder if I've seen your supra! Welcome to the area typically the PNW supra nationals are rotated through portland and that is always an awesome event with catered food with car show at a toyota dealership, drag racing, scenic drive. You can find details on facebook or supraforums.

Figured after some more reading I would order some more parts, called my dealership and threw these on order. Trans tunnel and slave they said has zero stock in the country (for warehouse distribution i'm guessing) but its all on order anyways. The deflector is the metal shield that goes into the rear of the R154 transmission as my new one wont come with it.

6-speed trans tunnel 58261-14010
Master Cylinder - toyota (31410-14310)
Slave Cylinder - Toyota (31470-14050)
R154 output deflector 33146-30020

After reading some really bad *** build threads I learned that my 95 tunnel wouldn't need to be changed IF ONLY it was manual, but since it is auto it would need to be cut. I'm going all out on this build so the trans tunnel will be drilled out and have the mk4 6-speed put in, I already have all the boots and seals to bolt it in like factory and keep any smells/noise out of the interior. Probably going to order a chase bays braided clutch hose too while I'm at it.

Been calling dealerships for the past two days, probably ten in total in my area trying to find a new truck in my specs, or putting my name on lists waiting for allotments. This chip shortage sucks and a new daily driver is what is holding back all of my progression on this car. If only Toyota allowed me to order a 2022 lunar rock double cab long bed TRD off-road! Jeesh these "allotment" lists SUCK.

Just ordered an HKS midpipe 3103-RT006, which is 3" i believe and should be plenty fine for the power I want. Discontinued from all US shops because its a cat delete and the EPA will fine them for selling it; so we will see if I actually get it from a vendor out of country. Really want to get a full exhaust but not sure who yet. Current covid shipping prices from japan are insane, but I guess shipping an exhaust isn't cheap anyways.

blitz nur-spec R MT3140 1228.26 shipped (catback)
kakimoto Mega N1+ Rev T31306 967.81 shipped
PHR 4" SC300 1392 shipped

Never heard of kakimoto but they seem to be pretty legit, sounds good. PHR 4" would be sweet but I really don't see myself needing a 4", or having a 4" down-pipe/midpipe.. The blitz nur-spec R is my preferred and its listed around $650 but is 600-700 in shipping charges and that blows my mind. Haha.

Talked with my toyota guy this morning and they've sourced a trans tunnel, 3 in the country is what he told me but its not discontinued. The mk4 clutch master on the other hand they say is zero in the country but they have an ETA of this friday which is good. I'm in no rush for those parts. Transmission is being delayed by fed-ex.. They've had it in portland for four days and it just says pending with no scheduled delivery date. I called customer service and they said I could put a hold on it and have it dropped off at a fedex approved pickup facility. To my surprise, the only option they give me for a big city is a walgreens in a shady part of town.. So I told them that is a no go. This is why i hate fedex, absolute garbage delivery times/service. Praying it comes undamaged this week.

Oh forgot to mention my tomei baffle kit came in from Japan. Real nice quality I'm excited for the day I get to install that.

Transmission finally came in, and the damn delivery driver stood it up on end so some oil came out the tail shaft or shifter area or something. Nothing looks damaged, and from what I see the only thing driftmotion forgot was the c-clip for the speedometer gear (I don't understand why they even open the packaging from Toyota, and toyota doesn't sell the c-clip by itself so I either buy a new speedometer gear for 25 bucks or they ship me one)

Also kind of confused about one of the rubber seals that comes with the shifter at the top. Seems to want to get squished out of the top plate. Maybe someone with a tripod W58/R154 can take off the four bolts from their shifter and show me how the rubber seal sits ontop?

Thanks for mentioning that Rudy, the seal ontop just seemed so out of place.

So typically I wouldn't update during my work week but on my way home my altenator took a ****, atleast is starting too. Couple weeks ago I thought my battery was old cause the battery light came on, swapped it out and no problems since until tonight. Started driving and with my radio, lights, windshield wipers and defrost on my car started acting funny, the wipers went FULL fast even though they were set to the lowest setting, battery light came on, ABS light came on, radio blacked out the display but was still playing.. I shut off the radio and pulled over to check my battery connections and see if my belt was still on which they were. Battery and ABS light stayed on for my entire 45 minute drive home, but the wipers started working normally. Oddly when I came to a stop and was idling the car the battery light and ABS went off; i'm assuming because the alternator is supplying such a low charge that when the car demands more power it starts having issues.

Ordered a denso one and realized the 95 part number is unique to it which is really strange. I know there is the round and oval plug but didnt know there was 80A/100A versions of each too.

Just got an email back from Lexus, they confimed that "There were 15,539 1995 model year SC manufactured. Four hundred ninety seven of those were were Baltic Blue Metallic which was a limited edition color." Although they did not specify how many SC300's vs SC400's I can officially say this car is at least 1 of 497 ever made out of 15,539 SC's produced in 1995.

Previously someone said that 199 SC300's were made and 256 SC400's were made but according to Lexus that is wrong by 42 cars.

Forgot to update, been busy with life.

Picked up a new daily driver, 2022 civic hatchback sport touring 1.5l turbo with CVT, I needed something so I could dedicate my SC300 as my build car, and get rid of my gs300 and this fit the bill quite well. About 1700 miles on it now and loving it.

So onto the SC300, I ordered a Blitz Nur Spec R MT3140 exhaust system through MVP on a black friday deal, they estimate a June delivery which is pretty rough but gives me time.
GS300 has been getting ripped apart, only things left to do are remove the transmission brace and yank the motor out. Thinking I will do another timing belt/water pump and re-gasket and hose the motor with new seals; then new turbo manifold, clutch and transmission to get ready to go in the SC come summer time, I still need to yank the motor out of it, but winter is starting to get ****ty so I'll push it out to spring without a covered workspace.
