Sick build. WIll you be at the Serial Nine meet in September?
Would be nice to hit up the block party and make the trip down to Van if the car is ready. Won't really know until closer to the end of the month. A solid maybe lol.

I'll see you there if so. Hope I do, for your sake lol
Well didn’t make it to the SerialNine block party. But do have some updates.
Justin and Shawn finished the exhaust and they did an awesome job with it. Keeping it tucked tight. Loving the choice to go 4 inch oval. Some photogs and a couple videos for sound clips. Start up and idle.
Randomly my rear driver side door had stopped working from the outside which then led to my brother having ‘a shake your head’ moment as he thought the child lock might have been on haha. Needlessly to say when he closed the door it was now unable to be opened from the inside and the outside now. That led to a locksmith saying we’d have to cut a hole in the door...
We didn’t do that.
We ended up tearing apart the passenger rear door to get a good look at the function. Then removed the rear seats and the door moulding (weather stripping) above the estimated location of the child lock switch. With a tig filler rod we made a jig and did the old blind find the switch. Magically we got it on the 2nd try and we were able to open the door from the inside. Stripped the door panel off and pulled the outside handle off to find it had been “fixed” before with JB weld. Basically when you pulled the door handle the arm that actioned and would push down on the lever to open the door was now free spinning. The JB Weld had let go. So we just set it to the proper orientation and actually tacked it with a weld and reinstalled the rear interior and now I have a functioning rear door again. Didn’t grab any pictures of the process just a standard pull your interior with a lot of harassment and joking with the brother.
Shawn got the AEM water/meth pump installed and wired both the pump and the flex fuel sensor up so this is the final look of the trunk.
One of the findings with this build is that integrating the stock Multiplex wiring with the AEM Infinity has been interesting. We spent a bit of time testing wires trying to find one that would engage the A/C compressor when switching it on/off with both the stock Navi and the stock multi-display climate controls. If anyone has any experience with this and could help send me a PM. We are going to wire a button in for now that will turn the A/C on in the meantime. Keeping it stock looking we are going to use the TRC on/off.
I tossed the dash back in as Shawn wired in the reverse lights to work with the CD00A swap. Tossed the front bumper on.
Went and grabbed some fuel so we could make it to the gas station to fill up. Then after a long 11 months, it was time for my first drive. Shawn was a little stoked haha he’s put so much time and effort into this build. So many amazing small custom fab details he has done. Now for his finishing touches, the tune.
Took the Aristo for a quick street tune sesh. Took it through town and onto the highway. Everything checked out and I got to do my first pull. A quick 1st through 3rd. Wasn’t fully bagging on it, just enough to get the waste gates to open. On wastegate spring we are hitting 15.6psi of boost. This first drive was without VVTi and no water/meth. Stay tuned for some videos of the car on the street and dyno. We are almost there.

Reason: Added video links.
Been away at work, but got this tease sent to me by the shop.
Base tune, 16psi tapering to 14psi.
Pump gas (94 octane)
Didn’t hear whether they were running water/meth
593whp
No VVTi, pump gas (94 octane), Water Meth
Definitely exceeded my expectations on the base tune. I was guessing around 520-525whp, but secretly hoping I’d hit 550whp.
Should be home late next week and see if they grabbed any videos of the dyno. Then get some more videos of the car, rollers and such. Getting closer to being able to finish exterior, install the wheels and wrap.

After last work shift I ended up in Vancouver for the week so figured I would stock up on some dyno juice. It was a Friday and ran into Vlad @604_2JZ fueling up his Aristo for Friday night drag racing at Mission Speedway.
100 litres of E85 loaded up for the journey home.
Picked up the car to put on some break in miles. Felt so good to have her back and cruise around. Really well behaved for daily driving with just the base tune.
We ended up going with a BTI CAN gauge versus the gaugeART CAN gauge. The shop put a nice touch on it with their logo showing on startup.
Still haven't wired in the head unit so just ignore that little bit haha. Still a few things on the to-do list. Didn't really need the head unit anyways, just wanted to hear the car while driving her around and enjoy it after the 11 month build. Loving the exhaust, with the windows up there's not too much drone and no way not to enjoy the turbo noises on this thing. Don't get me wrong though, it is extremely loud, 4" straight pipe is not quiet. Did a pull beside my best friend with his windows down and he joked when the wastegates dumped it was so loud his vision went blurry haha. Finally gave the car some much needed love on the cleaning front, 11 months of shop life required a good scrub.
The daily life. Excuse the messy garage in the background, was doing a fall clean up and pulling everything out haha.
Car was driving really well and there weren't any serious issues. Had my oil drain line on the turbo loosen off a bit and spring a small leak. Having it drip down onto the turbo manifold was a little worrying so had to fix that.
Enjoyed a little over a week of the car before I headed back up to work. Put on a nice chunk of KMs and dropped her back off at the shop while I'm gone for a week of work. They gave her a good once over at the shop, changed out the engine break in oil, found my VVTi gear leaking so changed it out with overnight parts from Vancouver. Then my turbo blanket arrived and tossed that on. Also grabbed some of the same fabric to make a blanket for the Clutch Master Cylinder as we found it was getting heat sinked on my brothers car when he was drag racing and we expected the same would happen to my car. Have to finish trimming the shift boot mock up my Ma made and then get her to make this CMC blanket as well. Nice little shot of the turbo blanket installed.

The tuning process has finally begun. Got the car booked in for a day on the dyno yesterday letting Shawn @driftunion spend some time getting the VVTi going and then adding some boost. VVTi upped the wastegate tune from 593whp to 620whp @ 16psi. Then I got this text message.
After quite the build journey we did it. We broke 800whp on pump gas and kept the A/C in the car. We hit 811whp and 592lb-ft @ 24psi on 94 pump and meth. Shawn kept tuning and ended up hitting a tune of 848whp and 612lb-ft @ 26psi before the CMC got heat sinked as we were guessing it would. She's still got more in her so we ended the session at that and will pick back up today and see where we end up on pump gas.
The clutch was starting to slip on the top end. Hard to believe that we made it this far before finding a mechanical weakness. At least it was what we expected it to be, the clutch.
Now all that’s left tune wise is to setup an E85 tune. Not that we were chasing numbers, but hitting four digits was a bonus. So we can just build a solid E85 tune.
My brother made it to the shop in time for the 1005whp pull. Was awesome to have him there while I was at work.
