Driving to work and radiator hose popped on the IS300 about 20mi from the house. My wife had to grab a U-haul and rescue me. Then I just decided to just do the whole cooling job so I won't nor the future buyer have to worry about it. 30° outside yesterday morning but it's done now
I would be a happy person if I only had a percentage of your skills. I would love for my gs430 to be manual. Thanks for sharing
Thank you sir! Most of what I've learned is because they were my daily drivers and couldn't afford to put them in the shop. Plus the moment you mention Lexus the price skyrockets. I had to figure stuff out. Now it's all I will drive because I know em and always willing to learn more about them.
The manual swap isn't too crazy. It just takes a TON of patience. You have to know when to stop when you feel frustrated about something not lining up or all the wires in the way. Do a little then come back to it. Order the right parts, which I'm a OEM freak so I went MK4 Supra items. I've seen others use different items and that worked for them too. If you ever want to take it on, hit me up and I'll shoot you all the info you need from my perspective
Well here's a flip car update! Still waiting on the TRD Cluster and Trust Oil Cooler for Fran so I did some work on the IS yesterday. I had the Teins left over from a duplicate order from the jp auctions. She needed rear brakes so addressed that to so now it stops better and is pretty low. Doing the matching fronts in a couple weeks and paint the calipers. I have a few more upgrades and some paint correction before I sell it. Month to date I'm just at $1000 with repairs and the original cost of the car all in. Should turn a nice profit
Trust cooler to put with the Driftmotion R154 trans cooler kit arrived yesterday. So now I can order it. I'll mock fit it this weekend so you can see what I envision.
Disregard the headlights. They're the originals. Still waiting on the Bellof ones to arrive from Japan. Here's a dry fit of the front end. I love how it looks! Sad it'll be covered up but I'll know what's behind there. Little by little, she's coming along
I assume those ducts are for the brakes. Can you take a pic of how you routed those? Also what bumper are you planning on running?
Yes they are. They not secure in place but I can get a pic of how I want them to route. With everything where its tentatively placed, I can still run the factory bumper. The fog opening won't be occupied with lighting so that's what will feed the oil coolers and the ducts should get air from the lower center section

That would be awesome and that also answers what I was wondering. The Supra guys who run those have it run to where the GS fogs are so that makes sense that you're not running them. Thanks!

Yep exactly! There should be enough flow to get to them. I dry iced the floor today and painted to get ready for the cage. Used Duplicolor in Toyota 202. Perfect match! I have to order Bride rails and get some Zetas before they can start on it so we can get the seating position right. Might be a few weeks to find everything but we'll get it
Holy crap dude! I can hardly find motivation to work on mine lately. You are going all out on yours! Good work. I finally called to schedule my tune. So hopefully I will be updating my build in a couple weeks with positive news and same power figures. I just went through all these build threads to see what y'all have been up to. Now I have a spark to pull my intake and wire in my 1200cc injectors before taking it in.

Get after it man!!! Lol! I love the new found glory on these GS! They're awesome cars and people are starting to want them again. Which is why I have 3 now......smh. I just finished up the gold one today so I'll drive it a few weeks and sell it. Front main, rear main, valve covers, cam and vvti seals done. The silver one I just got. It's a 03 which I may keep a while and drive for work. Needed a o2 sensor. Runs like a champ now, bought it for 1k
Finally the weekend! I was able to win a mint Takata a couple weeks ago so just waiting for it to arrive. Bride rails and Zeta 4's Gradation are a little long to get and the gentleman building my cage needs the car asap so I'll opt for a Corbeau Forza and rail for temporary. Then I'll put it in my silver car. I sourced everything for my steering so now I'm gonna mock fit some items today. I enjoy seeing everyone work on their cars! Stay the course!
