Smile My GS300 from the UK

Hello everyone!

I've not long had my GS300 so i thought i would start one of these straight away so i can keep it up to date from the very start! Any ideas, criticism, hints & tips welcomed

This is how i first bought my GS last week!

This will be a sort of budget thread! From what i can see most parts seem to come from the US or japan anyway so postage costs i'm sure will become a PITA eventually! Any advice on good spots to pick up parts will be appreciated!

The previous owner has done a few bits already:
Front strut brace
Rear strut brace
Aftermarket head unit with GPS
And a few visual mods like carbon fiber wrapped spoiler & door pillars & wind deflectors

All i have done so far is give her a good clean and changed the side repeaters to clear ones... its the little touches that count! And i am in the middle of picking up some new speakers etc to update the cars sound system!

Very nice! I love the Tom's additions. Is it the GE or GTE motor?

Thanks! Its the GE, i don't know if it was the same in the Us but the GTE's were never sold over here so all of them are imports! To be honest there aren't really many 2GS300s about to be seen over here!

I think a GTE engine is on my wish list though!

First list is coil overs and to replace as many bushes as i can with poly bushes. I'll have a flick through of what coil-overs are highly recommended! I cant go for a super drop though as roads in my area and the curb just to get on my drive wont allow it!

It looks like there are already drop springs installed but yes coil overs are better all a round. I have the Tien Flex on the stiffest setting and I love it! It's a bit bouncy but hey it reminds me of my vette I traded in.

Also looks like a TTE lip. With all that TOM's stuff it's most likely original. Did they offer a TOM's edition over there or is it just a massive group of parts installed by the previous owner?

Still looks really good!

Yeah i think it came lowered as standard with it being a sport?

I think id like the coil over route though so i can change the ride height to just how i like it with it still being practical!

And as for the TOM's question i have no idea! my knowledge of these cars is still pretty basic at the moment, but i'm enjoying soaking in all of the ideas and info off of this forum!

Nice, I like the color combination. Be sure to check up on all the maintenance and ball joints first. Have fun with her.

Luckily the ball joints look near new but fro what i have heard i will make sure i keep an eye on them! Underneath looks rust free, haven't had a real chance to really get it in the air to have a more thorough look but I am very pleased with the car so far!

A few things have arrived in the post! I am just going to have to wait for a sunny few days to get it all in! (i'm no audio professional but I'm pretty confident i have the basics!)

Fingers crossed it sounds better than the 17 year old stock speakers that are in it at the moment!
