Default Front Emblem Installation

Hi all,

I recently bought a black pearl front emblem and was trying to install it today. I came across an issue that seems to be prevalent on other front emblem installation threads: has anyone been able to remove the two "spring nuts" that hold the front emblem in place without breaking the original emblem?

http://is.sewellparts.com/pdf/emblem_3IS.pdf 9A is the specific step I can not figure out how to do.

Any help or info would be great in removing the front emblem.

Thanks!

I've been seeing a lot of people break their spring nuts in order to put the new emblem on. Unless you're super good and get that off? Correct me if I'm wrong..

I'm fine with breaking the spring nuts. I actually can't figure out how or what tool to use to even break those. My concern is to avoid breaking the original emblem and the back of it.

i took mine out using a flat head screwdriver and plucking out the spring nuts, unfortunately i broke the attachments of the OEM emblem in the process. but on the bright side the black pearl emblem looks amazing on front
