I am still torn between painting or not as well as installing hood pins or not.

Will try to install it today!

Got the hood on yesterday.

Install was a breeze. In the second shot below you can see the new struts. They look very similar to the OEM ones, except that they are thinner. They work perfectly and in fact they actually raise the hood themselves after you have lifted the hood halfway up and release your hand, the struts lift the hood the rest of the way. Looks pretty cool in action.

So what do you all think? Paint the sucker?

As beautiful as carbon fiber is, I would pain the outside or do a light silver coat over the carbon so you can still see the weave. That would be my vote. If you leave the middle carbon, I would say get the Abflug carbon grill. Silver just loks funny and stands out too much. You could go TRD grill too but that is fake cf and will look a little out of place with the beautiful hood.

after seeing the installed pics I would paint the sides and then either paint the grille black or get a cf grille, or if you tint the middle so the CF weave is still visible and keep the grille silver

If I can find a Carbon grille, I would have gotten one already. Where can I get the AbFlug one? Carson Toyota sure don't carry it.
