I'm not quite sure which piece you are referring too but I have to warn you that shipping to and from our country (Namibia) will cost about three times what the part is worth.

I wanted to exchange the center air vents with another member with his climate control but the shipping alone would have come to about U$120.

Generally cars are well preserved in our country as it's very dry. You just have to keep them out of the sun and rain. This poor car sat for about a year unsheltered and with it's bags deflated in one of the wetter parts of the country (during the rainy season). Along the coast is also murder for cars. It will literary rust out from under you over time.

Thanks for the comments guys. I will keep posting. I want to swop the rear sub frames next. It should be quite an undertaking.

Interesting. On the other hand, you don't have de-icing salt in the winter I presume.

No, luckily not. I've heard that is a real killer for cars. We do an under-body wash after every visit to the coast though because everything at the coast is covered in salt.

It's easier to wash when the water don't freeze. I think you win.

Tuha, those rims bring out the beauty in this car. Im having a look at some at the moment. But I dont want to risk my suspension, so Id keep the 55 profile .

My stock 1996 LS400 is currently on 225/55/16

I would like to know if i can go with 225/55/18.

Would there be any issues with rubbing , etc ? Also, what is the recommended width of rim , 8.9 ?

lol no, those are small suv tires, wayyy too big. You can't jus increase the rim size and keep the aspect ratio the same (unless you dropped the width to near bicycle tire levels).

correct size for a 98-00 is ~225-245/45-18 for a conservative fitment, rim width of ~7.5-8.5 inches. depending on offset.

hmmm interesting....Thanks Drifter...

Im not sure about you guys, but I dont quite approve of putting a 1.8 Ton vehicle on 45's

Id probably go with 225 / 50 / 17

Just to clarify;

bolt pattern 5 x 114.3 ?

Hub center bore 60.1 ?

Stud size 12 x 1.5

Offset ??

I think you need to read up, it doesn't seem like you understand how tire load ratings and aspect ratio actually work.

Matt, my wheels are a nice design but I don't feel their size. I really wanna go with 19s. I feel like 19s are the perfect size for these cars.

Check out the sticky on https://www.clublexus.com/forums/ls4...eel-setup.html for people's different wheel setups until you find one that suits you. In the comments people wrote whether they had to roll their fenders or not.

I've been busy cleaning up and respraying several parts but I don't have a camera at the moment and my phone went missing at Christams so I can't even post ******ty cell phone photos.
I've also removed part of the intake mani with throttle body for cleaning. Should I replace spark plugs and the [egr] sensor while I've got access?

I realised I never showed off the 'new' outer rear lights.

I take it I can yank this fuse to disable the air suspension that I have partly removed? I'm thinking of completely removing the compressor too while I have the wheel well covers off for cleaning.

I discovered some carnage behind the left head light which was causing the fender to not sit right. I will massage [read, pound] that the best I can.

Different coloured left and right hid bulbs?
