2jzGTE SCs - The Siblings of my Supra MKIV Toys

To start with , I will use the JDM Auto ECU . Once I go into twin aftermarkets and bigger injectors for this Red Dragon then I will grab a standalone ECU. The pinouts for the 40 pins and 80 pins plugs for the JDM Auto ECU would be ..

Yeap here comes the fun . Honestly, not being a mechanic, this is the easiest part for me regarding this project . I just have to get it started. Till then , I always put it aside since it is kinda tedious cutting, extending, soldering and shrink wrapping hundreds of connections on that JDM harness
Well, I just figured , I save at least $800. That will buy me a lot of other parts. Eletrical or anything Electronics actually will be the easiest part for me on any automotive project since that is how I make a living having a Bachelors in Electronics and a Masters in Computer Science. I feel at home working on any Electronics / Technology related items. As long as I have all the diagrams and related info I need , it is actually a breeze.. just tedious, that makes me lazy at times. So I got to have some motivations to start it .
To answer your other questions, a) I prefer a wingless. The more sleeper look my SCs will be , the better I like them ... something unassuming. b) I glue a small piece of aluminum like coin size from the inside of those holes. You don't have enough room from under . All you have is small access holes from the underside where you can bolt a nut. Then apply bondo on top the hood so you can still get it even and yet the bondo do not fall inside because of the piece of aluminum you glued from the underside. And when the time you want to put back a spoiler comes, you can simply pry out that aluminum and drill out that bondo. That is just me. There might be others here who might do it another way.

These SC300 / SC400 Electrical Wiring Diagrams and SC300 / SC400 Service Manual files in PDF that are attached will come very handy for you guys while doing the harness.
Ooops ... , was able to attach the SC300_SC400 Electrical Wiring Diagrams... but the Service Manual is more than 8.96MB which is the limit. It is actually over 80MB. So if anyone needs it, I have seen some threads here where you can download the file.

Today , replaced the oil filter, changed oil on the Boost Logic Auto transmission and converter , filled one of my new LSD diff with oil and now drivetrain for the Red Dragon is all ready to rock and roll .. all it is waiting for is that engine harness. Hopefully I can spend an hour a day in the evening starting Monday on that harness. Well , I still need the AC line from the firewall though that will not stop me from dropping the drivetrain and running it. I can do that AC lines later... Ooops I forgot , I still need to get those teflon lines and dual pump installed for E85.

Today had to remove the front bumper from the QuickSilver SC since a local forum member was picking up the whole body kit. Poor SC , ugly without the front bumper. It would probably take a week before the bumper I ordered for it will arrive since it is coming from the North East.
Can't wait to get it painted and do a 6 speed built 2jzgte swap on this SC. Got most of the parts I need for this car already...800rwhp is the target.

Yesterday, since we were not going anywhere except for church and lunch out, I have decided to work on the engine harness of the Red Dragon to get over with it. I have been putting it aside knowing the amount of soldering I had to do. I hate manual repetitious work. Damn if it this was a programming work , it would have been done in a heart beat with my eyes closed.
So when I got up I said, let me do some cleaning up in the garage. While I was doing that I spotted a 2jzgte Aristo engine harness and a USDM 6 speed supra harness in a box which I forgot I had . HHHHHMMMM... so now I have an SC400 , Aristo 2jzgte , JDM 6 speed Supra MKIV and a USDM 6 speed Supra MKIV harnesses ...
That made me think , which harness to modify for my red dragon...the JDM 6 speed supra mkiv with SC400 harness which I originally thought of or something else.
Here are the USDM 6 speed supra , SC400 and Aristo 2jzgte harness side by side for comparison

If you look closer , any JDM wiring harness for the 2jz like the Aristo harness , they are shorter ... that is the reason any JDM harness had to be extended ... 16 to 24 inches depending on where you want your ECU installed... Dont extend it to much or it will be on the back seat .. lol..
Aristo 2jzgt harness above the SC400 and USDM 6 speed ..

I made the conclusion that I am not using the USDM Supra MKIV 6 speed harness neither the JDM Supra MKIV 6 speed harness ..
Why ? For the simple reason that people with Supra MKIV auto love to convert to the manual / standard transmission like the R154 or V160. So those harness are very much in demand on the other forum and command some premium $$$ . In short , I can easily sell those .. some savings there .. hmmm
