Well here is my build/Put back together thread.

Car runs great. Just need to have everything put back in it and get a rear wind shield. Ill keep updated the thread as I put it back together.

STAY TUNED!!!

Owner said the hood was scratched up so he rattle caned it. RETARD!!!

Motor runs strong. No leaks. Pulls hard and shifts great.

All the parts that need to b put back it.

Everything works in the car. Heater blows HOT!

Oh yeah, that's gonna take more then a weekend to get it back together. That's a bigger pile of parts then I thought there was gonna be, I wasn't even thinking all that weatherstripping. Check out all the tutorials on http://www.lexls.com/tutorials/ it will help ya out on how some things go together, and ya might want to upgrade those speakers while ya have them out. At least you have a garage to do the work in. Have fun, hope you have a lot of patience, you're gonna need it. Those wheels are on the wrong sides, they're directional to keep the brakes cool.
Hey, is that a 77 Volare in the garage? I used to have a 76 "road runner" edition. (most fun car I ever owned)

Sounds like a great deal and a fun project.

The front lower ball joints on those cars (mine is a '91 with ~172k miles) are likely to fail, and much cheaper than the uppers (which require upper control arm replacement). So you might want to look at that before the UCA's to see if that's the problem.

I have the factory service manual myself, but I've seen a .pdf of the ~2000 service manual floating around the web. Much of that should be relevant to your car.

Aim high.

Thanks for the heads up. Will most deff look into it. Where did you get your service manual? Any idea where would be a good place to look up the .pdf for it?

LBJ = lower ball joint - UCF2x = a second generation ls400. 1990-92 is ucf10 93-94 is ucf11 and so on.....

Bold parts are incorrect.

89-94 are all UCF1x, 0 or 1 for x is dependent on trim.

Nothing like an old Mopar!!!!
I keep looking at that "pile" of parts and laughing. Why would someone tear apart an LS400 in that decent shape? He could have gotten a better car for AutoX.
This is what I have for 98-00 manual, alot of it will be different b/c of all the changes through the years but the "Body" section should be pretty much the same as your 92. You'll be able to tell what's different as you work on it, you're experienced enough. Again, have fun.

Hmm. And you are in Illinois, too. Whereabouts?

I just picked up a fairly decent '94 myself.

Ok that is the wrong side of IL for me to offer my help!
Still want to see how it all goes, though. I got my blue/gray 156k '94 for $1400. Needs a bit of love but it drives great!
