Hey Everyone,
Posting my build to hopefully help others in their decisions if they plan to do some mods. Everything I do will be somewhat moderate because I sometimes take folks in my car for my job. Enjoy.
Last week I installed the Eibach Pro Kit springs and wheel spacers. It was a task and took many hours. It took some time, but I really enjoyed hanging out with my son doing the project. Reason: Deleted some unwanted characters that appeared. Added Wheel spacer brand.
Any interior photos? Interested to see how your build develops!
Hey Flong,
I’ve done a few things for the interior.
1. Some carbon fiber pieces. Bottom Y trim on steering wheel, button surround on steering wheel, and shift **** trim. Jogon is the brand. These are the hard pieces made of real carbon fiber. Nice quality.
2. For Christmas, my son got me the all weather mats I had been researching. Front and back. 3D Maxpider. They’re amazing
3. Blue LED bulb swap in the footwells. I had red but switched them out for blue. These bulbs are T10’s with six LEDs on each side and three on top. They are 3030s. Super easy to swap out.
4. Added headrest pillows. Wasn’t sure at first how I felt about them, but now I love them. Adds a little support right to the back of my neck.
5. This is not interior, but I don’t think I posted this update. Put on a carbon fiber license plate frame. Added the F sport emblem in red.
I checked the listing and it has ended. Tried to search ebay for any other listings and couldn't find another. The Lexus pillow (not OEM) is pretty good quality and I like it. I had ordered another generic pillow from another website prior to this one. I can tell you the size and quality can vary. This cheaper one was smaller and didn't have enough filling inside. I cut up an old bed pillow and transferred the polyfill to the cheap car pillow by unzipping and stuffing so it became firrn. At the suggestion of my wife, we gave it to her mother. It turned out decent but the Lexus one is much better.

Looks great!
Does your footwell lighting stays lit while driving? Or turns off once you close the door and put in Drive?
I swapped mine from OEM amber to bright white, I wanted make it blue but figured that since they turn off while driving, I won’t be able to enjoy them in color anyway - unless there is option to keep them lit at all time when car is on?
I haven’t bypassed the door trigger so they don’t stay on. For now, I’m good with just them coming on when I enter. I did add a few layers of some blue headlight tint to my projector lights to match. Looks good.
Been watching your build. You’ve done some pretty awesome mods. Keep up the great work.
Update:
1. Installed Figs 80 durometer LCA bushings. I was worried about it being too stiff, but it turned out exactly how I was hoping. It's true that body roll is less in corners. The best way to describe the difference is when you run over a small bump or hole in the road while 45 mph or more, it feels stiffer without a jarring effect. I'm super happy with the performance and responsiveness.
2. Ran over a nail and had to get a tire replacement. Took it to a tire shop and they damaged my front passenger wheel. I was pretty pissed, but they agreed it was their fault and they filed a claim. 2 weeks later I got a check for a wheel replacement. Debating if I should use paint to fix it or just get a new wheel. From the front it's not too noticeable. From the top it's very obvious. It just bothers me. Pics below.
3. Ordered a leather steering wheel airbag cover. Requested white stitching with a gloss black badge. I'm biting at the bit to get this on. It's going to take about 45 days. Damn.
Added carbon fiber mirror caps. I'm having a blast adding all the little things. Cheers.
Looks great!
are these caps going on top of the OEM gloss black caps? Or is it replacement?
I have ‘M style’ caps/replacement but kinda want to change it to OEM style just CF. Was looking at them but it’s always cap that goes on top of the OEM piece
Yeah, I also wanted OEM style and had been searching for a direct replacement for quite some time. Mostly because I was worried how the caps would look. Not sure if they make a direct replacement OEM style but I spent a lot of time looking and couldn’t find it. These are caps that go directly on top. Very thin, real carbon fiber. I’m very satisfied with the fitment. The brand is Jogon. So far all my carbon fiber bits are from that brand and fitment has been pretty good. If anybody has other good brands for carbon fiber parts, please chime in.
Yeah, it’s a great project. We spend so much time behind the wheel and it really does enhance the driving experience. It really does look better in person than the pictures. Keep me updated when you start.
Here's the latest:
1. Darkened the tint on my rear bumper reflectors. Blends much better than before.
Dark Tint on rear reflectors
2. Speaker swap: I have the non-Levinson system, and so I decided to upgrade the speakers. IMO, the OEM system is unbalanced as far as sound output, also sound in general. The dash speakers are much louder than the rear doors and the rear doors are much louder than the front doors (mids). This must be adjusted with your fade setting to get a half decent balance, which is fine, but it still bothers me that it's not balanced from the factory. Maybe it's just my stereo. Since the install, it's much cleaner now and I'm planning on installing my 12" JL Audio sub/enclosure. I'm happier with the speaker replacement but there's still room for improvement. Been doing lots of research and since I wanted more balance and output from the front and rear doors, I decided to pursue getting a 5-channel amp (still deciding which) and the AudioControl LC7i LOC (because of the summing of audio channels), to power the front doors, rear doors and sub.
This is what I currently installed.
a. JBL GX328 - Front dash. Originally, I used these because of the 89db lower sensitivity to have a lower sound output from the rear and front doors.
b. JBL Club 64 - Rear doors. I used these because of the higher sensitivity to boost sound.
c. Timpano TPT-M6-4 (midbass). Front Doors. I used these because of the higher sensitivity and midbass. I could have got the same JBL's in the rear doors if I had known I was going to pick up the new amp and LOC. These speakers are the true main reason for this decision as the output is just non-existent.
Here are the items I picked up:
1. Speakers.
2. Speaker mounts/adapter. Used an inexpensive one for the front doors. Converted the 8" stock to a 6.5" midbass. Had to drill and elongate the hole but worked out. You can get a custom one for around $80 or more. My original worry was clearing the window when rolled down but this worked with no problems. Front door adapter:
3. Connectors. Doors are the same, but dash are different. The Timpanos have both connectors as wide rather than positive as large and negative as small so I soldered a new connector onto the connector. Dash Speaker:
