I have a carbon fiber aftermarket spoiler I’m ready to mount to my IS350. I want to make sure I have the right adhesive for the mount before I actually put it on the car. I have 3M Auto Super Strength Molding Tape. (Photo attached)
The back says use is for
interior trim panels
body side moldings
rocker panels
emblems
cladding
Will this adhesive keep the spoiler securely attached? I really don’t want it flying off on the highway.
That tape works fine as long as you make sure the mounting surfaces are cleaned and wiped down with alcohol, and that the spoiler fits the mounting surface perfectly before mounting.
That is the correct product but key to making it work is heat. A nice sunny day will do the trick leave the car, spoiler and applied tape out for a couple of hours. If not an option heat the car and spoiler with a heat gun before applying.
