Default Chrome Trim

Just wondering how others preserve the chrome trim. Since it is seems to be a light coating over plastic, unlike the days of my youth when there was more metal in cars with thicker plating, I would hesitate to use chrome polish that I use on my 1973 car.

If you're looking for long-term protection, you might want to consider ceramic coating or wrapping it in a clear vinyl film. Personally, I just use the bottle of Top Coat F11 that I got a long time ago. Works fine and the chrome still looks new. Depending on the vehicle and how much chrome there is to cover, I'd probably recommend the ceramic coating. Shouldn't cost too much.
