Foam cannon not working properly?
Hello everyone,
I bought this foam cannon gun to use with a 2300 PSI pressure washer. I used it for the first time today with Griot's Garage Brilliant Finish car wash. All I got was some bubbly soapy water, even less suds than a Gilmour Foammaster II. I diluted the entire bottlw 1/4 cup of soap. I was expecting extremely foamy (almost like a shaving cream) suds but what i got was very lame compared to the pics I 've seen on this forum.
What am I doing wrong?

Maybe it's too much to ask for a $20 foam cannon to be decent? A few of the reviews mention quality problems.

I'd say you need a smaller orifice. Foam cannons have an orifice which is what adjusts how much water flows through the foam cannon. Bigger orifices are used for more powerful pressure washers and smaller orifices are used for less powerful ones. I'm guessing the orifice in yours is just too big for the amount of pressure/gpm your pressure washer outputs. A 1.1mm orifice is what's recommended and you can get them for like $5 on amazon. You can easily change these by just unscrewing the back of the foam cannon off and then unscrewing the orifice with a flat head screw driver. There's plenty of youtube videos out there showing this so I'd say its worth a shot. I have a weak electric pressure washer with that same foam cannon and the 1.1mm orifice makes it foam like a powerful gas pressure washer

My guess would be that you're either using it wrong or it's defective. I bought a similar foam gun from Amazon and mine works just fine (used it with Meg's Gold Class soap and CG Honeydew soap and an 1800 PSI washer). Make sure the nozzle is adjusted to be more narrow, then play with the **** on the top to try different mixture settings and see what works for you.
It sounds like you added plenty of soap for it to work, so if you've already tried the above, it's probably a defective unit.

Hate to see people using inferior products on vehicles. If you TRULY love your Lexus, go for it and get this Foam Cannon
Also- its imperative that you use a quality Soap as well. Since my whole car was done w PPF & Ceramic Coat - this is all I use....
I guarantee that these two items will make your Auto Care MUCH more enjoyable and provide MUCH better results as well. (I even use a Greenworks PW from Lowes and these work awesome!)

I bought and used the 0.1mm orifice and it made a bit of a difference, but not much. Perhaps I am expecting the foam to be much thicker than it really is in real life (as opposed to marketing/advertising pictures). Or maybe I need to switch the soap to something that produces thicker foam with a foam cannon.
