Paint correction quote sound fair?
I own a black, 2007 IS250 that is pretty well covered in swirls/small scratches from the previous owner. My local detailers quoted me ~$1000AUD for a full cut and polish, just wanted to double check that this is a fair price as it's my first time looking in to paint correction.
Cheers

If you buy a Porter Cable or RO polisher you would save a ton of money. A RO polisher, pads, polishes can be had for around or even under $200 if you shop around at least in the US, polishing is not that hard, just a bit time consuming.

That price is definitely on the high end - however, if the car is well covered in swirls and scratches then it will take more time and more product to detail the car. I would definitely try to have them include a sealant or at the very least a coat of some good wax to protect the car after its been detailed. Keep in mind that darker vehicles require a touch more care when polishing so they may have factored the colour of your car into the price. Do you plan on applying something to protect the paint after the correction?

1,000AUD is $754.29USD. If it includes a ceramic coating (depending on brand), then it isn't a bad price in the US market. I have no idea what the going rate is in Australia.
A ceramic coating is towards the top for post-correction protection. Paint protection film (ppf) would be the best protection, but usually ppf get topped with ceramic coatings too.

Where do you guys live where a reputable shop only charges $750USD for a full paint correction AND coating?
Most legit places around here in Chicago will charge at least $800 (on the low end) for a paint correction, NOT including any coating. We are far from the most expensive city. I know in Cali it costs significantly more if done by someone with a good reputation.

If there included a ceramic coating in the price then its definitely a good deal.. I'm not sure of the different quality coatings but maybe its a lower end ceramic coating?
Still a good price though if they're going to detail the car and then apply a coating.. as others have mentioned in North America you'd be hard pressed to find a shop that did all that for roughly $800.. Its usually over a $1000
