Engine compartment Factory Shine!
I notice when you go to a dealership and look at the engine compartment of a used car they look allmost brand new. does anyone here know what they use to make them look like they sprayed clear over everything? I clean my engine comparment with Castrol Super clean, and brush. and it gets the job done completely but i know the dealers have a product that they spray on after they steam clean but it seems i can't find out what. any info would be appreciated. One product that seems to approximate it is made by CD2 and called "CD2 Engine Detailer". It's a spray on silicone emulsion that shines and supposedly protects, and it will give you that look.
You can get it pretty much anywhere, I know AutoZone sells it by me, as well as Pep Boys. Cheers.

Engine shine
Another product in the Meguiars Professional line is used just for engine shine treatments.
The product is called "Engine Kote" and is water based. It comes in gallons.
Check the Meguiars web page or check with your local Meguiars dealer that handles professional products.
I used to use it in the passt and it works very well.
