Hey guys. After sandy when Gas crisis erupted I had to transport some gas in the trunk and some of it spilled. At first smell was horrendous, even in the cabin. In a few days after aired out the car for a few hours each day smell almost vanished but in the trunk there is still this awful smell, that's after a month. Is there anything I can do to get rid of this gas smell?
I took all the panels from the trunk and dried them, wiped inside of trunk with alcohol wipes and used febreze for auto. Nothing has helped so far.

About the only thing that works is steam cleaning, and even that is not 100% effective. Gasoline is without a doubt one of the hardest substances to completely remove. Lemon and vinegar will also help but don't expect miracles.
