Default WOW, this stuff is great!

Cleaned the headlights today on my bro's 1999 Lexus GS300; (Meguirs Plastx)
And cleaned the wheels while I was at it. this metal polish works VERY well! (Old metal polish from 1990s I think....

What do you guys think; Beautiful? (Yes, the rims have a little road rash, but that's from previous owner)

You can probably tell the before/after pics.

OK; bumper was sticking out on pic 3, and it is fixed now. Just pushed in and pulled up and it clicked into place.

Please do seal them correctly since any polishing will remove the protective coating on the headlights. I'd recommend Opticoat 2.0

Aren't those wheels chrome? I wouldn't use any kind of polish on chrome wheels. Ever.

Yes, the wheels are alloy chrome rims, but I only used the polish because it said it can polish, "Brass, Copper, Silver, Chrome," and so on. Why wouldn't it be smart?

Because sometimes polishing chrome actually makes them worse. I've had some come out successful and some end up pretty bad

Well, they are still shining like brand new now, the bottle said it's safe with chrome, and it works, so I think this stuff works pretty well. And were can I find Headlight sealant? Wal-mart doesn't have it, does Auto zone?

Yes, the chemical might be rated safe for chrome but that doesn't mean it has enough lubrication to work with any towel or medium out there to polish with. Just some food for thought whenever you polish anything

As for the sealant, you need to order it online. You'd be hard pressed to find OptiCoat2.0 anywhere in a store. This is professional grade products, not your run of the mill consumer products. I buy mine from DetailedImage.com. They are a vendor here and Greg is an excellent person to work with

Plastx is a great product. I've been using it for a while and I just used it this weekend on my GS and my girlfriend's car. I thought about doing the sanding method or just buying whole new headlights, but Plastx works fine enough for me.

They do appear to be night and day. I have always used the same stuff, until about a year ago. I also found that using the correct compound will also enhance the material it is being used on and less work for the person applying it. If it says it is ok to use, then it should be safe or call the company to concur and have a piece of mind.
