I am wondering are there any products that can actually get rid of cigarette smell from from the inside of the car, or any professional companies that do this? The last owner of the car was a smoker and the stench from the vents is really starting to get to me!

thanks
Adam

Hmmm, there's mixed views on the matter.

A friend had this in his old Probe from years ago. Bought a mint car, interior was cloth. Took it apart, pressure washed carpets, everything, etc. but still smelled, so he swapped the panels over from another car [and went from beige cloth interior to blk leather] He was picky to say the least.

try this first? http://www.buzzle.com/articles/how-t...-from-car.html

I hope you don't have to go as far as that though...

Get some Ozium from your auto parts store and follow the directions (something like spray in the vents and set it on full blast for 5 mins. with the windows rolled down) and some carpet cleaner to scrub the carpets.

The primary target you should hit are the vents and any carpeting/cloth as that traps the smell. When I got my SC300 the previous owner was also a smoker, those methods basically eliminated the stench.

I know a few people who were in this situation. You need to clean and condition the leather, wash the mats with soap and water. Also clean the windows, the vinyl, vents with q-tips, and steam clean the interior (overkill, but worth it). Also, change out the cabin air filter. Leave the windows down and let everything dry for a good amount of time. That will solve your problem.

Wipe down just about everything in the car with either the Chemical Guys Sofast Odor Eater or the Chemical Guys Extreme Offensive Odor Eliminator - Concentrated if it's really bad. Both products kill the source of the odor, not just mask it. Wipe down virtually the whole interior with it. Spray it on the carpets (after vacuuming them) and agitate it thoroughly with a brush. Spray the carpets again and work your brush in multiple different directions for best results. Don't forget the headliner and other difficult to reach areas. I also recommend using the Einszett 1Z Klima-Cleaner AC Odor Remover to remove smells trapped in the vents. Upon completion open the doors for as long as reasonably possible so it can air out. If you have any questions please let me know.

Questions: With the Chemical guys extreme offensive odor eliminator, if I spray on my headliner which is very light gray will it discolor it?

On the klima- Cleaner Ac odor remover, Do I have to remove my center console to expose the whole vents or can I spray it into the little vent slots? And, If I can directly spray into the vents, do I need the mask off the surrounding areas; or will the ac odor remover not damage my Vinyl, Navigation screen, control buttons, etc?

No it should be fine to use on the headliner. As always with any new product you should test it on a small area first, but it should be safe.

In short you just spray it in the vents with the supplied hose and you are all set. For detailed instructions check out this link - http://www.1z-usa.com/klima-cleaner_application.html.
