After more than a year (purchased my '07 IS250 new in December of 2006) and monthly cleaning/conditioning using Adam's http://www.adamspolishes.com/c-18-ca...pholstery.aspx mine still look like new. If they start to get a sheen on them (Usually just on the driver's seat bottom since I'm usually the only person in the car) then I clean and condition to eliminate. The Adam's products leave a matte finish which I love. Their customer service is excellent as it's a small company committed to service rather than volume. I love doing business with boutique companies and I'm so glad I found one for my car too!

I think the trick from what I've read is to dab some conditioner onto a towel and then massage it into the seats so that it would not get into the holes.

No, it's real leather. You're thinking of their "leatherette" material which is a vinyl fake leather. I don't think many (if any) 5-series come into the US with leatherette, but thanks for requesting the clarification.

I was worried at first too but if you massage really well and work the conditioner in you should be good, or otherwise the conditioner will dry and it will go away.

When lexus preps the car, they wash it take the plastic off the seats.. do they do the dash and seats or leave it just as is. I convinced my dealer not prep the car cause I don't want swirls so I am doing it my self but I want to make sure I do everything lexus does to the car.

I use Lexol conditioner and cleaner like twice a year.
It really leaves the leather feeling silky smooth.
Also, like monthly, I run a towel with the lexol cleaner through the crevices of the seats, especially driver's side. removes all that dirt, crumbs and dust.

I finally bought a bottle of Lexol conditioner and applied for the 1st time this past weekend. Hopefully I'll put good use of it in the future.

You won't believe this but a car guy I know told me to use "baby wipes". They clean and moisturize, just like your baby's bottom. :~)

Aloha,
Larry
