That^^^

A key with the transponder for the immobilizer system. you can swap a cut key into it and program for you car.

I thought that a used key couldn't be reprogrammed without going to the dealer.

wondering the same thing...

if it was simply able to swap chips and open cars, GS would have a lot of thefts around here.

I know there is a way to program a new key that has never been used before. That DIY is on here somewhere but for a used key I thought the ECU had to be flashed or something to that affect.

You can program a used key, but you need a new shell so you can cut the key to your car.
