Default Please Can Somebody Help Me

I have a 2001 Lexus GS 430 with standard HID. I'm trying to find out, if anyone have the standard HID headlight bulbs that they are trying to sell or where I can find them? The local dealer is asking for $300 a bulb so I'm trying to find them cheaper then that. If possible please list any website that you have purchased replacement bulbs from. Thank You!

Ebay has them for thebest price. Just look up D2R. Get the Philips Color match. I think its like 40 plus shipping. It will match the other bulb. ill put the link up in a sec. Its a much better price. $125 u can get 1 6000k bulb

Here u go bud click the link New Bulb

If u buy a brandnew bulb it wont match as good cuz it hasnt color shifted yet. After 100 hours they shift from the 4300k to around 4900k. This bulb is rated at 5000k so it will match the other side perfect. Also its $47.00 shipped so it wont break the bank.

i would think twice before buying some cheap aftermarket hid bulb off ebay if i was you... their is a reason besides dealer markup why such a big price variation between oem and aftermarket.. if that ebay stuff shorts or is not correctly rated it could burn the harness and or short out the ballast.. alot more money then just a $300 bulb

btw , i am not advocating you buy my bulb for i can always keep it as a spare when mine burns out , just trying to give another perspective

Aftermarket? Sorry but those are philips bulbs. They come Stock on almost all Luxury cars. When u find your spare bulb tell what kind it is. Its either a Osram(older Gs) or Philips D2R 851269(newer GS) both in germany. These bulbs are Philips 85126+ for color match also made in Germany. Phlips bulbs are the ones everybody has in there car. I have 6000k philips but D2S for my Projectors. Any way if u buy a cheap crap Korean bulb it wouldnt short and burn the ballst. The bulb just wouldnt light up.

common sense prevails here, although you make a valid point however why such a huge price diff , why would someone sell such quality replacement if brand new and equal to oem at such a discounted price ..

i dunno maybe i am just ignorant but gamma lets let it be so we dont hijack this guys thread , let him decide what he wants to do

I bought a bulb from the dealer for 125.00 that was in GA so I dont know why your guys want 3 bills. The thing you need to consider though is are you going to be able to install it. I couldnt figure it out myself, maybe your smarter than I though.

Changing a light bulb takes 5 minutes. All u do is screw off that big plastic cover. Than twist the plug off the bulb then take the bulb out. Then do everything again in reverse.

Changing a HID bulb is a bit more involved than that. The above will work for standard bulbs, certainly not for the HID's which a bit more difficult. One must remove the metal heat shield and holddown which can be finiky. Also make sure the notches on the bulb are lined up.
Several of the D2R bulbs on Ebay are actually D2S bulbs with the notch cut out to fit the same as a D2R. However the light will be scattered as real D2R bulbs have a u-shaped coating on the bulb to prevent the scattered light. Check the link below for some more information. From what I understand the Phillips brand labeled on Ebay are the real deal, but I forget which seller has the real ones.
