Recall: 2017 Lexus ES 350
Safety alert concerns loose tie rod and may involve 1,760 vehicles.
Toyota has announced that it is conducting a safety recall of certain 2017 Lexus ES 350 vehicles in the U.S. Approximately 1,760 vehicles are involved.
The right-hand side tie rod assembly in the involved vehicles may not have been installed properly, according to a late-breaking news report from Lexus. In some cases, over time, the driver may experience noise; the vehicle can drift to the left or right while driving; or the vehicle may experience a loss of steering control. This can increase the risk of a crash.
Lexus dealers will review all involved vehicles and confirm that the right-hand side tie rod lock nut is properly tightened. If it is loose, the dealer will replace the lock nut, the steering gear assembly, and the tie rod assembly at no cost to customers. All known owners of the involved vehicles will receive a notification by first class mail starting in mid-July, says Lexus.
