Lexus LX570 vs. Cadillac Escalade
TFLnow draws a quick comparison between the latest Lexus LX570 and the all-new Cadillac Escalade. Can you guess which offering came out on top?
The overwhelming popularity of SUVs has motivated even the most traditional luxury marques into developing their versions of opulent high-riders. This is the reason why Lexus LX570 is one of the best-selling models in the Japanese luxury brand’s product range. In one of its most recent videos, YouTube channel TFLnow offers a quick comparison between the latest Lexus LX570 and Cadillac’s all-new Escalade.
The video is presented by TFL’s Managing Editor, Andre Smirnov, who discusses various aspects of the two offerings that make them worthy of their six-figure price tags. The Lexus LX570 shares its platform with one of the most formidable off-roaders in the world, the Toyota Land Cruiser. Under the hood, the Lexus offering features a 5.7-liter V8 motor, which produces 383 HP of power and 403 lb-ft of peak torque.
Andre shared his thoughts on the Lexus powertrain, “It’s really just smooth V8, it’s beautiful and yeah it’s covered in plastic because that’s you know, you don’t have to worry about it. It’s very dependable and it’s been around for a very long time and it’s very premium looking.”
Unlike other automakers such as Mercedes, Rolls Royce, and even Aston Martin, Lexus has refrained from adopting electrification on a major scale. As it turns out, things are about to change for Lexus as the luxury brand’s parent company, Toyota recently announced that it will soon launch three electrified offerings. One of the upcoming models will be a Lexus EV, which will be based on its e-TNGA vehicle architecture, and the SUV will share its platform with Subaru Evoltis.
The interior of the Lexus LX570 can be best described as comfortable. “The steering wheel comes out, and it’s beautiful wood with leather. It’s really nice to the touch, and everything is very familiar here because it’s been around for a while,” said Andre.
The LX570 reviewed by Andre comes equipped with the Luxury and Sport package, which makes it a bargain even with a price tag of $106,755. The Cadillac Escalade is $6,310 more expensive than the Lexus and other than its Super Cruise ADAS technology, there is little that Caddy has to offer over the LX570.
LX570 may probably be the last conventionally-powered SUV the company will ever produce, which only adds to the car’s appeal because tradition and legacy are highly sought-after attributes in any luxury product.
