Lexus LC 500 made a bold debut in 2017. Drawing from the LF-LC Concept and the LFA, the LC 500 is a luxury coupe, with heavy appeal as a sports car with its elevated styling. Sculptural but slinky lines make it undeniably alluring. Further fortifying its performance roots is the savage and sonorous 5.0-liter V8. Bottom line: It is a gorgeous car that just feels fast.
But how does that translate to the road, to real life? A sumptuously shot video by Woyshnis Media effectively captures the freedom behind the wheel of a Lexus LC 500. From dawn to dusk, the Lexus drives the open road; from sprinting around Monterey, taking on twisty roads, conquering city streets, canyon carving, and enjoying the stunning views of the Pacific Coast Highway and Pebble Beach.
Vibrant red pops out against the grey, foggy dawn. Woyshnis is not only a artful cinematographer, he is a gifted storyteller. Using only the LC 500 and its delicious V8 soundtrack, we don’t just see its grace, power, and agility; we can feel it.
As the LC 500 picks up speed, it is as powerful as it as stunning. Hammering down on the freeway, weaving through traffic, and nimbly cornering; you are transported. You recall that distinct breathless thrill that comes with driving an unabashedly daring and fun car.
It looks so good, and it sounds like heaven. Each twist and turn of the sinewy road is optimized by the Active Cornering Assist; a feature which brilliantly bridges man and machine. As the road gets more challenging, and your reflexes become sharper and naturally kick in, so does the car. One of many ways the LC engages the driver.
Lexus is noted for its painstaking dedication to bring together technology and design seamlessly. In that regard, the Lexus LC 500 is a masterstroke of form meets function, sports car meets luxe coupe.
Another aspect of the LC 500 that is apparent is its versatility. In the film we see the LC500 tackle all manner of terrain easily.
There is nothing that compares to driving a sexy, fast car on the wide open road. Feeling the power harnessed in your hands, the responsive LC 500 makes it impossible not to smile. Or at the very least display a little Steve McQueen smirk.
Oh, that we could spend every day road tripping in Lexus LC 500. We love the unique style, but paired with its satisfying and stirring performance on the road, it achieves adrenaline-inducing heights.
It also passes our “turn back” test. When you park it, you have to turn back around, look at the LC 500, and think “Oh, hell yeah.”
