IS Hybrid Trace Your Road Video is Virtually Awesome
There’s no way I’d be able to wrap my head around–much less explain–all the technical witchcraft which went into creating this video. What I can tell you is that it’s a pretty slick blend of virtual and reality.
Basically, passengers were tasked with drawing out a route on a iPad, and the route was projected on to the floor of an aircraft hanger in real time. Former F1 shoe Jarno Trulli–who won at Monaco in 2004–was charged with following the twisting paths. It’s an impressive display of driving chops and technical prowess, and I bet it was also one hell of a good time. As crazy as this set up looks one video, I can’t imagine how it must have looked in person. Enjoy.
