It’s official, Lexus has announced that the long awaited 3rd Generation Intelligent Sedan is coming to the 2013 North American International Auto Show in Detroit. The all-new Lexus IS is reported to be a complete redesign with styling cues from the Lexus LF-CC Concept and the flagship of F, the Lexus LFA super car.

Lexus and a whole host of other luxury manufacturer’s have been given “poor” marks in the IIHS new “small overlap” crash test. The test is designed to simulate a car crashing into a tree or pole from a glancing angle at 40 mph.

After delays due to poor weather conditions, the race to the top of Pikes Peak is finally on this weekend. Lexus will attacking the famous hill climb with their IS-F CCS-R. The driver is none other than drift star, Ken Gushi.

The next IS has been shrouded in mystery for some time now. Everyone knows there’ll be a new one soon, but we’ve had no idea what it’ll be like. Now we’ve got word that next IS will be a completely new car. So expect a revolutionary IS come 2014, not just a revision.
