road hazard protection is definitely worth it imo, esp for a car that's a daily driver. i had two tires slashed after accidentally driving off the road on the right side and hitting a curb pothole/crater on a rainy night. both tires were replaced for free no questions asked by Sears due to the protection i bought.

That's Murphy.
For me, about 70% of the time I put fresh rubber on and in about 200 miles, I'll get a nail, screw or like. It is more likely to happen the more $$'s I've spent on tires.
A modest set of Bridgestones were free from problems but the couple days after I put some Goodyear F1's, I had a nail. Same to when I put the these BFG KDW-2's, nail in the first 200 miles. I now expect itto happen so I set aside an extra $200 for a new tire each time.

here are the details from Sears and TireRack. i know walmart and directitres.com also have the protection.
Sear's Road Hazard Plus Agreement
Tire Rack's Tire Road Hazard Service Program
my tires were about 6 months old before they were irrepairably damaged and replaced for free. cheap insurance at less than $10 per tire.

Got a nail also
I've had my Bridgestone Turanza LS-H for 6 months now, and I just recently found out that I have a nail punctured near the rear sidewall section of my right rear tire. No wonder the pressure on that tire is way off compared to the rest of the tires
As I understand it, the location of the puncture on that tire is in the non-repairable zone (i.e. not in the tread section), so the only choice is replacement. Now here's the thing: I purchased road hazard insurance at Midas in Connecticut when I got these new tires installed back in June. I'm in Florida now, so would a Midas shop here be able to grant road hazard in replacing the tire? I have the original receipt and work order. TIA.

yup. they might not have it on record though depending on if the original shop put it on the server.
i bought mine from tire rack and had discount tire mount it for me...lol included road hazard for free with the mount and balance cost. lol good thing cause i had a horse shoe nail in my tire for a week. lol an actual horse shoe nail. not just the shape of a horse shoe. lol
