L-tuned springs w/ stock shocks?
I was thinking of lowering the car but wanted to know the pro's and con's of having aftermarket springs but stock shocks? Trying to be conservative with the spending

with springs and shocks, the ride would be stiffer, handling is better, and it looks better too. you might feel the car is more bouncy and maybe more road feel. handling should be improved quite a bit, with less body roll.
cost is definitely an issue. a set of ltuned springs/shocks will be about 600 bucks i guess. it's pretty good for the price. however if you look for the best performance and look (lower the car more), you will probably need to get coilover for about 1 grand. yes that's more money but you get more

The stock shocks are not built to work with lowering springs such as L-tuned, Eibach or H&R. The stock shocks will wear out very quickly and you'll have to replace them before you know it. A couple members of this forum have tried this and later said "I wish I'd gone ahead and done them at the same time" for the labor savings.
If you're looking at saving $$, keep checking the classified forum here for a set of used aftermarket shocks or post a WTB (want to buy).

Do it - I maybe like you, hesistant about doing any mods, but this is one of the best mods I could have ever done.
L-tuned shocks and springs and steering ECU.
If your not happy with stock now or it's getting at you, this is the way to go or at least a good way to start off. It almost seems mandatory.
Just the slight drop itself makes your GS look so much sportier than stock.
