Default Uca

Guys,

We've encountered some issues with the UCA being over extended and hitting the upper wall and the ball joints being bent to it's extreme. What will it cost to make something like this?

Post other options here. Thanks.

UCA is the lesser concern. What we really need is a shorter steering knuckle to go along with the RCA (ss kits) blocks to help reduce the uca angle and provide extra clearance, as well as further adjusting for a more balanced roll center.

However I do not know if additional adjustments are required on the uca to accommodate for such a drastic change. It's probably a good idea anyway and we do have good solutions offered on the market at this point; making your own arms would cost a lot more than buying Ikeya.

They ikeya looks like it would have the same problem as all the other UCA. The way my car is sitting right not, it's barely dropped, the UCA balljoint is nearly bent to the max. I'm affraid it'll just pop off after hitting a few bumps.

This is way expensive... I would make more sense to buy an spc one and bend it.

+1 for shorter steering knuckles. It would be the best option for our upper ball joint problem.

i have actually been wondering about this for a while........ why couldnt we just cut an inch or so out of the knuckle and weld it back up? it would solve all of our suspension problems (even camber)

I wouldn't want to be the guinea pig to try that out, especially since you can only weld on the outside surface. On hard turns, there are immense amount of forces that the knuckle experiences.

not totally true.... as long as its bevelled good and you are welding with enough heat, it will fill it all the way to the center.......... BUT, it still is quite alot of faith to put into a weld

That's is what I meant. You are applying weld but it's not guaranteed that it will be uniform and fill in perfectly. Essentially, stress concentration is still on the welds, which is why I haven't done it yet. Too much risk involved for an unknown outcome. Perhaps FIGS can come up with something for us.

A shorter knuckle could possibly solve UAS bag rubbing problems as well.
